Producer of the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships here! Love the show and loved the part with hobbyhorsing :3 I know you guys were joking but you do btw get disqualified if the horse is removed from between the legs, or if you don't canter enough on jumping courses :D

To be fair, sled dogs LOVE to run. Huskies were bred specifically to pull sleds and their innate desire to run is why so many suburban huskies are insane. Other breeds with similar drive and energy also love sled pulling. I've seen plenty of videos with dogs yelling impatiently as their owner finishes setting up, or getting frustrated when they're told to stop. And plenty of people don't even race. They just sled run their dogs as daily exercise and enrichment. In the summer, sleds are swapped with wheeled carts or wagons. But even in actual racing, mushers adore their dogs and good ones will absolutely drop out of a race if their dogs are stressed, hurting, or uncomfortable. You could make an argument against the marathon races like the Iditarod, but it's as dangerous for the humans as it is for the dogs, and there is veterinary care available at the checkpoints if necessary.

That joke totally tracks. A tricycle that is missing a tire MUST fall down bc the back tire is not centered. It's actually funnier than saying a bike was two tired

For anyone, who's not keeping track with the wild things Anastasia is casually throwing in (but also for those of us, who do ofc): That is the SECOND time Anastasia brought up 'the goonch'. First time was in the Racist Candle Mishap episode.

Reindeer note: they are a specific species of deer, and are also known as Caribou! I also figured that saying that they’re a “specific deer in a specific place” could be misunderstood, so I’ll say… if you put a reindeer in, like, Arizona, it doesn’t stop being a reindeer, don’t worry. They’re there own thing. Like how there’s red foxes and arctic foxes and grey foxes. There’s moose, there’s deer, there’s reindeer, and there’s some other ones most people don’t know, and they’re all like, cousins, taxonomically.

About dressage, there are a lot of problems within higher positions in the dressage community, especially among the olympic level. The bridles they use are so often specifically designed to make the horse more uncomfortable so that they listen to your directions more. Nosebands (the part of the bridle that wraps around the middleish part of the horse’s snout) are often much too tight or even have parts on the inside that apply even more pressure, which is horrible considering that they sit on the horse’s very delicate nose bone. Don’t even get me started on bits (the part of the bridle that goes in the horses mouth and lays on the tongue). Their purpose is specifically to make the horse uncomfortable and force them to listen to your commands. In my opinion, snaffle bits (which are the gentlest kind of bit) are the only kind that I think should be used. Though you can use a bit-less bridle and do just as well! Also, there are lots of horses that enjoy learning dressage and it can be a wonderful sport, but when olympic level dressage riders are allowed to put their horses through so much obvious pain (horses having open mouths and excess saliva are so prevalent in higher-up dressage competitions, you can see it everywhere), there needs to be something done about it. During the last olympics I saw a lot of equestrians speaking out about it, but it’s still happening. It’s a long, uphill battle. Also, I’m going to be honest and say that I am not an equestrian (i dont have the money for horses lol, I’d love to have them in the future tho), just a big horse nerd with still a lot to learn. If any equestrians are reading this and want to correct me or add something I’d be happy to learn more! Just be considerate and know that you’re talking to another person here 😅 I don’t like to be yelled at lol

the timestamps make it sound like Joe Rogan is, himself, a weird sport and I'm not gonna argue with that

Hello! I’m the Simon Says girlie 👋🏼

The event was Ludwig’s Streamer Games in LA! Simon Says was definitely the highlight of the event for me as I had no idea what we were in for. Each round started with 32 of us and the round you saw, ended in a 1v1 with myself and Miskif 👑

The guy, ‘Simon’ is actually named Steve Max, believe it or not. He has a really unique style of running the game and frequently hosts Simon Says games at NBA half time shows and other events 👏🏼

1:05:28 “you could say they’re bouncing on it in incredible ways”
“Stop, stop”
And then sudden cut is so fucking funny lol

i just love whenever Anastasia speaks because i know i'm going to be thoroughly educated or entertained

I, unironically, would love a Jordan content deep dive on Jarvis Johnson: Gold. I want to find out who this character he wants to avoid being is

1:42:09 New extreme sport dropped: trying not to die when I took a sip of water just as Anastasia said "have you ever heard of the goonch?"

Can you guys pause for a second I have to sneeze

cant wait for sad boys to review eygptian wall paintings and find ishowspeed drawn in the hieroglyphs

woah something to listen to while neglecting sleep

49:39 Male Reindeer actually shed their antlers in tbe winter! So, hopefully, they're just male reindeer in this clip
This also means that all of Santas reindeer are female!

Hearing about your guy's struggles (especially Jordan's) brings me comfort and almost kind of hope? To see and hear that you two manage to be successful while still dealing with the same stuff I do makes me feel hopeful that I can do the same. My mental health issues hold me back an immense amount, to the point I feel like I'll never be able to do anything, but hearing about your guy's experiences brings me hope and comfort

My saviours…. Pulling an all nighter sewing right now and I’ve been trying to find something to watch

The "ethics of caroling" section is extra funny to me considering that when I was in high school my a cappella group (cringe, I know) sent us in quartets to local restaurants to go caroling.  FOR MONEY.  And we did have to ask people what songs they wanted.  And we did have to sing about wassailing!  Wassail is actually a tasty holiday drink (that they sell at Trader Joe's).
