One of my favorite directors. Thanks for posting this memorable interview from 2002!

Sydney Pollack is a very smart and impressive person to hear speak.

I have always loved this man, and my admiration for him endures. I never tire of watching the films he directed and played in or listening to his interviews ❤

I considered myself the luckiest guy on earth to get to work with him before he passed.

What a great, fabulous interview. I could listen to Sydney talk for Hours he was so interesting. Wish he was still with us today.

One of the best Hollywood ever had. There was something natural about any film he was in that gave it gravitas - you couldn't look away - to say nothing about directorial and producing body of work. I wish I'd met and/or had a chance to work with Sydney. Rest in peace.

Incredibly talented man. I remember watching “Swimmer” and there was a scene (kinda in the middle of the movie) and I thought “wow this scene is so much better than anything else I’ve seen so far, I wish the whole movie was shot like that” and it turned out that was the scene Pollack directed.

the billiards table scene in Eyes Wide Shut is fantastic.

Charlie Rose has an incredible ability to not let any of his guests finish their sentences.

What a genius this man is.

I really like Sydney's acting. Watch his well observed performance in Michael Clayton

He was the cousing of my grandfather
I got an Old VHS from my mum
When sydney visit us in Berlin i can remember he loved the Albanian food my father cooked and they talked all night long on the balcony

I so adored him.

Super Director, Actor, Escritor... Un se humano genial. QDEP. 📣🎥🎚🛐

Gid bless him for talking about The English Patient - the best film made in the last twenty or thirty years.

" I did an Endive Salad that knocked them on their ass!"...Brilliant stuff!

Sydney Pollock was well-loved in Hollywood no wonder many actresses and actors wanted to work with him. Rest in peace 🙏

"A tomato doesn't have logic."

The scene between Pollack and Hoffman in Tootsie is probably the greatest comedic scene ever filmed.  Well written, expertly acted and skillfully directed.  It's a master class in timing and editing.  It doesn't get much better than that.  And a lot of the credit goes to Sydney Pollack.  Is there another director who could go toe-to-toe with Dustin Hoffman, acting wise, and not get obliterated off the screen?  Because I can't think of one.
