This has been up for years and I'm so glad. What a nice piece to run into; loved Ernest Borgnine. I met him first on McHale's Navy as a kid and then discovered his earlier work. A great actor and seems like a really nice guy.
Great person and actor. Ernest visited the Blue Angels Team in the mid 70s. He autographed a photo for my dad who was an avid fan of his. He was a very down to earth person.
I met him a couple of time and he couldn't have been the most friendly and real celebrity ever. And he was just like this - he would tell stories to you like he had all night with you. Such a kind and gentle man.
A screen legend tell a funny story and also relates an experience he had with director Richard Brooks. He was warm and personable with no âairsâ about him whatsoever. Watch his Oscar.winning performance again in âMartyâ and see genius at work.
Ernest Borgnine showed up at a screening of "From Here to Eternity" during the Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners" series in Los Angeles. He was generous with his time and literally stayed until he signed everyone's program. What a nice guy.
