Tommy Cooper and Dame Edna on Parkinson, sounds like a great show!

Despite seeing celebrities who have either passed away or were show to have a darker side, this is great to watch.  It looks quite simplistic by modern standards, but there's the potential for TV programmers nowadays to use that nostalgia, perhaps creating sets with digital effects that deliberately look a bit crude!  It could straddle both ages and the older generation could talk to children of how it looked when they were younger.

By Jove, I would have been nine and halfway through junior school back then!  How Christmas has changed over the years, and with less quality of programming.  Three channels in 1979, yet more worth watching.  Now aged fifty four, less straightforward circumstances in the 21st Century.

My twelfth Christmas. I remember both the Christmas idents and many of these programmes. Where did the time go?
