We tried a new way of learning history: Instead of simply listing events, we describe what life would have been like if you had been born in that era. We wanted to make history enjoyable and transform it from rote memorization into a lived experience.

In this video, we follow the life of an Indian born in Punjab in 1896. We begin in a world struck by famine and plague simultaneously in the year of your birth; we experience the 1918 flu pandemic, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Gandhi's Salt March, the 1943 Bengal Famine, and the 1947 Partition.

The dates and numbers in the video are based on sources. The character and family are fictional.
