The Viola is such a wonderful instrument.
I love my Viola.  Aanyone who makes fun of the Viola or who puts down the Viola as anything less than the Violin is just WRONG.

Lo sigo desde jo en, ahora tengo 77 jo adoro a Pinchas Zuqermam lo adoro😊

Mr. Zukerman, I treasure the recording in which you played viola on the Mozart Symphonia Concertante with Itzhak Perlman on violin and Zubin Mehta conducting the Israel Philharmonic.

What a treat to find this video. I love Pinky's viola playing. I think he is the best violist in the world-- he draw such a gorgeous sound from the instrument-- and it's cool to hear his secrets.

About Primrose’s connected vibrato—I once played the Eyeglasses duo with him after he finished coaching our quartet, and remember very clearly that his approach to vibrato was very connected whenever he played long lines.  He, like you, was also a fantastic violinist—Ysäye student—so he was more influenced by violin culture than most violists are, but also the Lord Carrington Guarneri responded unbelievably with that approach to vibrato.  (I can still hear it!)

I know that fingering! I actually discovered it myself, and went against my professor’s suggestion because this fingering gives a better phrasing and line to that passage!

Oh, I wish I could have lessons from you.  This was wonderful.  Thanks.

YES!
The Viola has its own voice that is wonderful!

That piece at the end was beautiful

Brilliant!

I love your recording of the appregione sonata ❤
