If you grew up in a toxic environment, your home planet was probably the "Planet of Intensity." Chronic alarm, drama, constant high tension, and emotional roller coasters are seared into your nervous system early on—and often continue seamlessly into narcissistic relationships later in life. Intensity becomes your native language.
Anyone who breaks free from this system suddenly lands on a completely new planet: in the calm, uneventful waters of normal life. But for a traumatized nervous system, silence and predictability don't initially feel like a respite, but rather like a hostile, alien land. You stand there like an alien who has to painstakingly learn the language of peace, letter by letter.
In this video, I talk about:
Why chronic intensity in childhood calibrates your nervous system for constant activation
How narcissism and drama in adulthood keep this dynamic alive
Why you initially feel like an alien in true peace
Why we often attract people who simply speak the familiar language of intensity
How you can practice living a safe, unspectacular life, step by step

Note: The term "narcissism" is not used on this channel as a medical or psychiatric diagnosis. From the perspective of survivors of toxic relationships, it describes people who consistently exhibit certain harmful behaviors over extended periods. The goal is to give survivors of these dynamics a voice to process their experiences, regain trust in their own perceptions, and find their way back to themselves.
Important note: The content is intended solely for psychological education and guidance. It does not replace individual psychological, psychotherapeutic, or medical advice or treatment.
