WHO FIRED FIRST? "GIANT?" OR THE POLICE? | PART 1
What really happened during the fatal police encounter involving 27-year-old Shane Clarke,
also known as "Giant," in St. Catherine?
In Part 1 of this two-part Jamaican Young Police investigation, we examine the account.
provided by the police, the reported recovery of two firearms, the alleged exchange of gunfire,
the damaged police service vehicle, and the serious criminal investigations to which police
have publicly linked Clarke.
According to the police account, members of theJCF'ss Specialized Operations were
conducting a targeted operation after receiving intelligence concerning the alleged movement
of illegal firearms. Police allege that after signaling the vehicle to stop, gunfire was directed at
officers and a pursuit followed. Police say officers later came under fire again and returned fire.
A .380 pistol reportedly containing one round and an AK-47-type rifle with an empty magazine.
were reportedly recovered.
But those claims raise the central question of this presentation:
WHO FIRED FIRST?
At Jamaican Young Police, we are not asking viewers to automatically accept the police
accountβor automatically reject it.
Data is King.
The physical evidence matters. Ballistics matter. Gunshot trajectories matter. Witnesses
matter. The damaged police vehicle matters. The recovered firearms matter. And the findings
of INDECOM's independent investigation matter.
In Part 2, we will continue examining this case, including the perspectives and questions raised.
by the other side.
β οΈ IMPORTANT: References to Clarke's alleged involvement in other crimes are based on
allegations and investigative links publicly attributed to law enforcement. They should not be
interpreted as convictions or findings of guilt.

You watch, you listen, and you decide!
My people, this is PART 1, so please watch the complete presentation before reaching a conclusion.
The police have given their account. Giant is no longer here to give his. His family and attorney have their perspective, and
INDECOM will conduct an independent investigation.
Our position is simple:
FOLLOW THE EVIDENCE.
If the forensic evidence supports the police account, let the evidence establish that.
If the evidence contradicts any part of that account, let the evidence establish that too.
And where the evidence does not provide an answer, we should be disciplined enough to say: we don't know yet.
