Accurascale offering to replace the multiple working socket is a Glorious solution (I'll get me coat)

The Amazon truck stuck under the low bridge made me chuckle.

To be honest with you Richard. I can definitely say that Accurascale Class 50 is the "Definitive Edition" and as the owner of 50021 "Rodney", I also sustained the MU socket debacle but its really nothing that a dab of PVA glue cannot fix and it won't ruin the model either. I just recommend using a cocktail stick and just apply a slither of PVA glue on the slot and then put the MU socket back on. Wait 6 hours for it to dry and it will stay put. A good quality PVA glue will suffice. To anyone reading this. please DO NOT under any circumstances use superglue or solvent based glues as it WILL attack and ruin the finish. PVA glue on the other hand is harmless. I use it all the time to add detail parts and nameplates and Accurascale has an amazing support system for anyone that is stuck.

Blows my mind how much accurate detail there is on new locos.
But  had so much fun with my Lima 1980’s stuff!!

Very interesting and informative video on the new 50.
Brilliant engineering again from Accurascale, and they seem to have cottoned on to the issue with six wheel bogies not having the centre axle with height compensation built in. But, they’ve always had problem. I now have five Accurascale locomotives, one steam and the rest diesel. Plenty of information about the prototype and its class variants. A fantastic sheet showing the parts list, but not one has any information included on how to get inside the loco other than “prise apart the body clips”. We could really do with a detailed sheet on HOW to service the running gear, drive train or God forbid, remove the pcb to access the motor. There’s usually the obligatory warning that the motor, drive train and bearings are lubricated at manufacture, but you’ll need to re-lubricate after every six months or 100 hours of running or so. It would be nice to have the information at hand on just how to accomplish the procedure without damaging your purchase in the process. Please forward to your colleagues for future reference.
Ok. That’s enough gripe!
How about using a small neo-magnet on the end of a screwdriver to help refitting the handbrake chains? As you’ve demonstrated, the retaining pin appears to be magnetic.
As I said above, a very interesting video on a great looking locomotive with some terrific features. Many thanks and best regards, Dave B..

All Of them Please! 😂

Puntastic, like my Defiance model - the cold start is worth the price - it just makes you smile.

Good explanation of what to do and what not to do! I’m only confident with old stock, the 3 pole motor 80’s/90’s stuff, so your explanation was great!

A very reasonable and balanced assessment of the model.

As the detail of locos improves, the risk of unforseen maladies - such as the detaching jumper socket - also increases. As modellers, we have to accept a certain level of this, and many of us will have the skills to deal with it. However, for those who don't, then Accurascale's readiness to sort out these problems is both welcome and refreshing.

It's a lovely model. Hats off to you & your colleagues.

I think more videos on all the accurascale models like this would be well received. I know they take a lot of time to make, but I think the detail you have gone into explains some of the engineering challenges that goes  into manufacturing! Spending 30yrs in automotive manufacturing making cars, many people dont appreciate how difficult it is to manufacture volume complicated products.

Richard, many thanks for making this honest YouTube video. Especially like the how to take the body bit in your video. Regards Tony.

Wow… how far modeling has evolved ! Really appreciate the hard work to show such details

Thanks for the video and insight into the features and work that goes into the model. It's another set of great additions to the loco stables. Cheers Steve

These look very nice indeed.

Thanks for this video including the clear demos of body removal. Perhaps some black tape over the hall sensor PCBs would help disguise them.

Brilliant video, Richard.  very useful information.
I am over the moon with my model of 50149 Defiance even if the orange bit fell off.
Well done Accurascale.👏

You can never have enough 50s! I have seven AS vacs already and am looking forward to run two. Admittedly one is a duplicate and there's a lengthy decision making process as to what it will become - 50012 Benbow and 50039 Implacable are high on the list.
Yes I had a couple arrive with loose jumper boxes and the like but that does not deter me - they will get refitted when the locos go off for weathering/driver fitting (and in a couple of cases sound fitting). Hopefully AS will look in depth at the packaging so that run two locos will not suffer the same criticisms of loose parts etc.

Great video and look at the class 50 from accurascale. It does look good in that livery too and sounds fantastic starting up.  I have the TT:120 Sir Edward Elgar class 50 and I’m very happy with that from Hornby. Look forward to seeing your 50s doing the rounds on more videos in the future. All the best Anth Knill 👍

Thanks for sharing this video on the class 50. I enjoy your posts but cannot get out of the back of my mind that, in my own opinion, New Junction has become an Accurascale YouTube channel by another name - given the level of support and sponsorship that you benefit from. That stated, keep up the work, I will still watch and I even have your channel as a recommended one to watch on my own playlist page. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Hi Richard
I’ve got two and they are brilliant stunning looking models can’t wait for next run of them already well done accurascale 👍👍👍👍👍👍
