This comment might bum you out. You essentially have the V1 model of the Vevor 1x30. They came out with another model that has an adjustable platen, sealed electrical connections, and a functional reverse mode. They don’t advertise that one though. I did a ton of research and stumbled on a video on the second one before I bought mine, thankfully.

I bought 5 different 1x30s recently. Not for knife making and heavy grinding but for sharpening, deburring and honing with no need to switch belts each time. Fitting angle guides on all them

I solved the platen issue on mine by gluing a Glas microscope slide to it, it reaches from the top of the platen to slightly below the rest, is flat and super cheap to replace

This video is perfectly timed. I literally just took delivery of one of these today. I haven't used it yet but it looks to be very well made and I can't wait to set it up in my little workshop. Thank you for the useful set up and modification tips too. I'll definitely be adding that groove in the plate for safety. I paid $259aud (about $180 USD) so I am happy with the price. Hopefully it will last for a few years of regular use

Remember: The Jinlida is aimed at knife MAKING !!!!

For sharpening, the Tormek is unsurpassed but costs over 1 Grand.

However, these are Mandarium made substitutes ( low speed wet sharpening ) for the same price as the Jinlida. They surely worth a try.

Bought one of these a while back for those times you need something like this to get a job done. Seemed like the best thing out there at the time for the price. Since then, I have seen several reviews that support that.
