On October 8, 2026, at approximately 12:04 p.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department Battalion 18 and 20 units responded to a reported commercial building fire at 730 E. Hyde Park Blvd in Inglewood.

Engine 172 arrived to find smoke showing from a one-story strip mall. Additional companies assisted with fire attack while Quint 161 and Light Force 170 assumed ventilation group. Crews initially had difficulty locating the seat of the fire and later transitioned to defensive operations. A structure behind the strip mall was also lost.

The incident escalated to a third alarm bringing additional resources to the scene. Knockdown was reported at 4:13 p.m., approximately 4 hours and 9 minutes after the initial response. Crews remained on scene for extended overhaul, with Dozer 6 brought in to assist.
