Reactors often go into Back to the Future thinking that the movie is beloved just because of nostalgia, but that's not it. The nostalgia is just a bonus. The movie is beloved because of the story. It's so satisfying, it puts a smile on your face and tears in your eyes. This is what so many multimillion dollar blockbuster movies lack; lots of action and CGI is no substitute for a great story.

The line " You're just too darn loud" is brilliantly delivered by Huey Lewis. This is a cameo that goes way over the heads of every person reacting to this movie. Huey Lewis was a HUGE star in 85 and the writer of "The Power of Love" which we hear in the beginning of the movie. It's so much funnier if you know who the guy is. It got huge laughs when audiences saw it 1985

40 years after the release of what is possibly the best time travel franchise and it is still going strong

36:21 funny how biff always says to George don’t be so gullible but he always falls for it when Marty does it to him 😂

Lone Pine Mall, the best hidden joke in the entire movie. After crashing over one of the two pines in the past, the mall in the future has been renamed from Twin Pines Mall to just Lone Pine Mall

OH MY GOD I JUST GOT IT.
"Pretty mediocre photographic fakery, they cut off your brother's hair."

It's because he's already starting to disappear, then it's the big reveal after Marty reveals he screwed up time. Holy crap.

I LOVE this movie.

"1.21 Gigawatts", has become one one of the most iconic lines in the history of cinema and popculture.

The amount of skateboarders and musicians this movie is responsible for creating amazes me. And now writers I never would have thought that screenwriters would be added to that list. But seeing this film thru your eyes gives me a whole different experience. I began to skateboard because of this movie. It inspired so much for so many making this one of the best films ever made in my opinion.

49:23 "We have to have 2 more movies guys..."

Yeah, about that. 😂🤣

The opening shot with all the clocks is also an hommage to George Pal's classic "The Time Machine" from 1960, which started the same way...

This movie was my childhood and the music was the soundtrack to the lives of many Gen Xers. This is one of those films that perfectly encapsulates what it meant to be a child of the 80s.
Incidentally, I still get decked out in my denim pretty regularly

Colette's such a lovely human 🥰

Micheal J Fox was born in Canada and was on a TV show here called Leo and Me in 1978. His dad was a soldier in the Canadian military, and when his son told him he wanted to go to Los Angeles to act at the age of 17, his dad /mom said yes because they believed it was his passion and saw him get a job on cbc television in Canada.  Once there, he was all but broke before  Family Ties hired him on its sitcom ( which was a great and popular 80s show) . Spielberg and Zemekis liked him on Family Ties, and he got BTTF. A lot of things fell into place, but MJF just kinda went for it, and it paid off.  I enjoyed your reaction.  Thanks

“If we could bring that family aspect back.” You’re a writer Collette. Do that. There’s obviously a market for it. You absolutely have the mechanical skills to see the tools that make a good script. Now add your heart. As Paul Cézanne said a work that does not start from emotion isn’t art. Collect your skills. Study. Open your heart without shame. Write it.

The opening of the movie summarizes the entire movie, not just by introducing everything but because Doc set all the clocks back, Marty is in the past trying to get back to the present.

5:55 - "Marty - Cute name!" LOL!!!!

“If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you’re gonna see some serious shit.” Best quote from the movie!

I've seen so many reactions to this movie but nobody ever pauses and pays attention to the opening scene, and I've never given it enough attention either, it's so perfect. It sets up Doc's character without even showing him, the plutonium, the fact that everything from coffee to dog food is powered by clocks (i.e. time is in control of everything) and dumps a load of dog food on 'Einstein' as if it's acknowledging that the irl Einstein would not have believed in this kind of time travel, and the literal 'grandfather paradox'. I know BTTF is considered one of the most perfect scripts/screenplays ever, but I still find new ways to appreciate it more than ever before.

Colette, if you're gonna watch the trilogy -- in Part 2, when you get to the "To Be Concluded" at the end, STOP THE MOVIE.  Part 2 and 3 were filmed together (released only 6 months apart theatrically), and there's a preview for Part 3 literally right after the "To Be Concluded" that is pretty spoiler-y.  If you want to go into Part 3 knowing nothing, trust me on this.

7:02 the guy who says , im afraid your just to darn loud is the guy who invented the song marty was trying to play ( the power of love ) so that guys name is huey louis and the name of his group is the news hence the entire name of the group is huey louis and the news , who were a group out of the 80s
