Animal House (1978) Cast Then and Now 2026 | Who Died Unexpectedly?

In 1978, a cheap, raucous little comedy about the worst fraternity on campus became the biggest hit of its year and changed screen comedy forever. But decades later, the lives behind the toga party took turns no screenwriter would have dared invent.
In this Then & Now journey, we revisit John Belushi (as Bluto), Tim Matheson (as Otter), Kevin Bacon (as Chip Diller), Stephen Furst (as Flounder), Mark Metcalf (as Neidermeyer), John Vernon (as Dean Wormer), Donald Sutherland (as Professor Jennings), Bruce McGill (as D-Day), Verna Bloom (as Marion Wormer), Martha Smith (as Babs), Peter Riegert (as Boon), Tom Hulce (as Pinto), Karen Allen (as Katy), and Stephen Bishop (as the Charming Guy with Guitar). From the star who waved off a fortune to the unknown pledge who became the center of Hollywood's whole map, every face in that house has a story. Some of them will surprise you.
Some rode the fame as far as it would go. Some quietly walked away from Hollywood for good. And sadly, some are no longer with us.
