Story 4: why are her needs more important then OP’s? She has a husband who would rather sleep in his car, which cannot be comfortable than be stuck in the room with whale noises blasted everywhere. Doesn’t even try to consider his point of view or even compromise by keeping one speaker on her side. No OP has to suffer otherwise he’s a terrible husband who doesn’t love.

She’s gonna be real mad when he finally snaps and just breaks all those speakers, wants separate bedrooms, or just leaves for a while.

2:06 "feels racist" well... he did make a slave joke 💀

That thumbnail ate and left no crumbs. Who is this diva

1- OH HELL NO! Most curly girls wear silk scarves and bonnets to bed to keep our hair from tangling! Also, he called his own wife a slave for a while, and he draws the line at her telling him he should’ve married a white woman!

As a black women the first story had me in shock. Girly needs to stand up bcs why she let that first slave joke slide? 😭

3rd Story: OP's sister is 100% lying to make OP feel bad. The house is OP's, not her sister's.

Last Story: Why do I feel like OP's wife is cheating on him? She's way too interested in threatening divorce to protect a cheater.

"You're a rent-seeking capitalist!" Says the person who inherited $500,000. XD

Also with the inheritance story, since OPs sister is older, she CHOSE the money over the house, so she has so no say in what you do with the house

Rslash: The decibels scale is logarithmic, meaning every 10 points you increase, you double the power. So the difference between 140, and 250 is alot more than twice as loud! Just a fun fact for you!

Last story: I'm calling it right now, the wife is also cheating. Cheaters ALWAYS have each others' backs.

Second story, OP should just tell her mom that if she catches a whiff of her cheating again then she'll go straight to her step-dad with the evidence. Doubt she'll learn her lesson but her new husband doesn't deserve to deal with her garbage.

Third story, just send the bill and ask how OP is supposed to pay that. Then ignore her because if she had to spend half a million on debt, then she must have terrible control.

In the whale story the wife is the one being shellfish.

Whale Sound story: OP, you are firmly in the right here. You tried to talk to her. You offered compromises. Your wife ignored your justified complaints and shot down your attempts to compromise. When she got mad that you removed yourself from the problem situation and you tried again to compromise, she whined that you were “refusing to understand her needs” while she was ignoring your basic human need for sleep.

Story 1: he feels racist because he is racist, but didn’t like being called out. Who in their right mind refers to their wife as a slave, then hides their scarf, and complains about not being able to run his fingers through her hair,? And OP isn’t a unique cases, I’m also a black woman with curly hair who wears a scarf to bed, just like most black people.

Heck, he might as well just say he hates that his wife is black. Personally this would make me seriously consider divorce. Especially with that BS marriage counseling proposal because his feelings were hurt.  Even if he doesn’t get it, which by now he should. He doesn’t have to treat his wife like crap over it.

I an also a black woman married to a white man. Admittedly, we both have dark senses of humor and will JOKINGLY make a racist joke or call the other racist in private but we're not calling each other slurs or whatever that woman's husband was saying.

When we first got together (23 years ago) I had my SO watch my hair routine so he could understand why it takes so long. I wasn't even half through when he said I never needed to do that again unless it's what I wanted. He's very understanding of how long it takes if I go in to get a trim.

I only recently started wearing a bonnet to bed as my eye mask was rubbing of the small hairs at my edges. He has never commented on it. He even started using the silky pillowcases himself to help prevent issues with his own hair.

Nerd here, Decibles don't scale that way (100dB isn't double 50dB)
230dB is equivelent to being IN THE CENTRE OF A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION or 512x louder + 1 BILLION times more intense/powerful than a jet engine.

Story 5:  Points to OP for helping JR get a good place to stay AND hiding his location as much as he can.

On the other hand the wife going as far as trying to impersonate OP to find JR is a grand red flag there.

Maggie is the problem, not JR

11:43 decibels are logarithmic, meaning every about 10 decibles the noise doubles, meaning a sperm whale is about 512x louder than a jet engine.

That first story was a big oof. Time for me to overshare. When I was 18 I had a friend over who decided to do my dishes for me randomly. Me being an idiot said "yes slave, do my dishes" meaning it as a totally harmless joke. Saying this to anyone is wrong. But saying it to a black woman is even worse. I rightfully got yelled at, but I definitely learned a lesson.

Story 2: what did mom think was going to happen? Hey OP,  even though I’m married and I know you hate this guy with a passion, I’ve been in contact with the guy I cheated on your dying father with. Just for closure do you think I should go meet up with this guy, I know you saw me have the affair, but you’re cool with by now.

The truth hurts, especially when it comes from your kids, but yeah, it’s the truth. And if that’s not what you wanted to hear then maybe stop including your kids in your affair. Because it’s funny how  all the siblings are telling OP it’s none of her business, but mom is constantly making it her business. It can’t be both.
