I was a thirteen year old boy living in Tobago at the time that movie was filmed. My uncle was hired by the production crew to assist them with things local and i got to go with him on set sometimes. It was a very exciting experience for me but i couldn't understand why they brought so many species of animals when none of those existed on our small island. They brought a elephant, a tiger, an ostrich. a big anaconda etc, none of which live naturally here. Not to mention a chinese junk. Now i'm 79 years old watching a movie that brought back so many nice childhood memories.
I NEVER got tired of walking up into the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse at Disneyland. Always so fun and inspirational to see the engineering that went into it.
I was 10 years old when this was released. It was a true fantasy for a young male. I discovered a back way into the local theater through the second floor bathroom window. As a result, i saw this movie at least 12 to 16 times.
