For 75 years, Australia’s mysterious night parrot was believed to be extinct. Then a photographer made a discovery that stunned researchers and reignited the search for one of the world’s rarest birds. This video explores the incredible rediscovery, the evidence, and what scientists learned afterwards.

I believe all cats should be band TOTALY from Australia because most people that i have come across in my 64 years dont care about a little bird or a small marsupial, so they will not keep there lovely fur balls locked up. for example my next door neighbour has approximately 7 cats at my last count, abel to roam freely day and night and i live in an area that bans cats roaming freely 24 / 7.

Killing animals to "study" can extinctify a species. Sorry. The older I get, the more this bothers me. Aaaand letting cats go outdoors can do the same thing, especially to birds. Glad to see some of these birds survived to mate 😁🦜

Dont worry Australia will find a way to kill this off too. They are very good at it

Coexist! What surprised me most was your sensitive discussion of the mining industry & its impact & mining's contribution to the naive people of the area - I was not expecting this! WOW what a beautiful bird - these ecologists are blessed by God - because they are doing God's work whether they believe in a higher spirit or not - they love God's Land & work hard to protect it. God who created it all - we live inside of God's creation - respect life even though we live in a fallen world. Respect the native people - their knowledge & their stories of the land - these people who lived here for 1,000's of years - they have much to teach us!!

Pet cats cause aot of damage to wildlife where ever human beings have taken them. I personally don't understand people who claim to have them as pets but leave them outside 24/7. Even worse are the ones who refuse to have litter trays in their houses, and think it's OK for their cats to use neighbours gardens. At the worst it spreads disease. The daughter of a friend if mine is completely blind, zero vision thanks to picking up the toxoplasmosis when playing in the family garden as a very small child. They have never owned a cat, and never will. This was from other people's cats. I now have solar cat scarers around my garden to try and keep a neighbours cat out. Not the cats fault, it's the irresponsible owners.

Hopefully the population is outside of tourism areas. Don’t advertise the location.

Industrialised nations don't seem to care about nature. Only indigenous people do.
Perhaps it has s.th. to do with greed, as we are able to hoard things.
