This was a really rough time for him. Poor guy.

There are SO many fine things to say about Elton John. He is not embarrassed to discuss any part of his life. His insides are what's on his outsides! Think about that, his young life all he knew were private feelings and thoughts and was exteriorly shy, feeling invisible or unimportant. And out of his real talent, from inside what he KNEW, that Grew and Grew and Grew so much until he was completely inside out expressing Everything his own way, by way of thinking and working for himself.
To all of us introverted exhibitionists, YOU GIVE US HOPE ELTON JOHN

Imagine sending Elton John lyrics, him writing a song with them, then saying “Nah.”

"I would have had hair so tall you'd have to move me round in a furniture van"- Isn't that an indication of the future?

I like Elton's older music...Benny and The Jets, Saturday Night, Someone Saved My Life, Rocket Man, etc...

One of the best Elton interviews. Low key and no stupid questions.

10:04 "If you're successful... you get to a point where you can't do any wrong." Very true. A song that is written by a 'no name' beginning singer songwriter is considered 'terrible trash' while if the same song were put out by an Emmy winning artist, it'd be a hit. When you've made a name for yourself and you're on top of the world, everybody will accept what you put out because of your reputation. Some people will disagree, and this doesn't happen in all cases, but it happens all the time.

Great interview, relaxed and honest. Elton shouldnt underestimate Caribou, it's terrific.

I was just going to write that! (below) at 5:18 "I like something firm between my legs".. and at 5:22 - he suppresses a laugh! Funny intelligent man. Great movie!

Very interesting interview. He seems very candid about talking so openly about this life and thoughts.

This is definitely 86 as he wore pony tail wigs that year and Leather Jackets came out that year too. In 1987 Elton wore hats more often and his voice became a little richer after his throat surgery.

1986. The Leather Jackets Album behind him, which came out Nov 1986. Guessing this is around then maybe a bit before that. You can hear him keep "hacking" because of his throat issues too, so late 1986.
