There are tons of pros of living in Egypt that makes it a great place to live. As for the cons, they can be mitigated to a level that it's not too much of a problem anymore.  But only if you know how to or get help to figure out how to.  So don't lose hope. :)

Off spray is a really good repellent for mosquitos. Just spray it on your skin and forget that they exist.

Thank you for this video, you summed it up pretty well! I'm a European and have lived in Egypt for 10 years now. A major con for me has been the lack of nature and green space. In the West you have easy access to public parks with playgrounds, a must when you have small children. The only way to mitigate this here is by either having a membership to a (sports)club (which can be very, very expensive) or to live in the suburbs and have a garden. We chose the latter.

Egypt govt need to educate its citizen n have a program for recycling n compost bins like in the west.There is no bins n they have no good waste system to keep the country clean n even the beaches clean

OMG, I wish I could give you a thousand likes. You said everything perfectly. I am half Egyptian and half French, but I was born and live in the USA. I only visited Egypt a few times when I was a child. When I got older, I had to deal with the paperwork there, and it was unbelievably frustrating. Nobody knows anything. They keep sending you from one person to another, and no one gives you a clear answer. I honestly hated the experience. After spending three months trying to finish one damn paper, I never wanted to deal with Egypt again. Twenty years later, I visited Egypt with my kids, and they hated it. They were shocked by the amount of garbage in the streets. They kept asking me, "Why do people throw trash on the ground?" I had no answer. Then they asked, "Why doesn't anyone follow the driving rules? Why is everyone honking? How are people walking between all these cars?" They were honestly traumatized. The mosquitoes were terrible. My son had a severe reaction to the bites and had to take antibiotics for two weeks. We stayed inside the house because we were scared he would get bitten again. My other son got food poisoning. The number of people asking for money, especially around the pyramids, was overwhelming. To be honest, we will never go back again. wanted to get Egyptian citizenship for my kids because their father is French. I collected all the paperwork and paid thousands of Egyptian pounds. Then, at the very end, an officer told me I couldn't pass my Egyptian citizenship to my kids. Why didn't anyone tell me that from the beginning? Why did I waste all that time, money, and effort for nothing? I tore up the paperwork and actually felt relieved that it didn't work out, because I realized I don't want my kids to have Egyptian citizenship anyway.

Im in hurghada  by the red sea so I do get a little  more fresh  air but the sand is a killer on my sinuses. Im learning  its who you know.we ( my friends) have a egyptian  driver and he is a lifesaver. When it comes to prices, getting  around  and finding  a lawyer  who isn't  ripping  you off.Doing a lot of things in egypt  takes TIME but knowing  a lawyer  you speed up things  so fast.Is this free? No! But the lawyer  i have isn't busting my head.when compare usa/ pounds  .Apples and oranges  baby 😂😂.And its sad just  to throw  down  garbage  like that when huge containers  are sitting  there.The people  above me throw  trash out and smoke cigarettes  and throw  it down. The wind blows it on my balcony. Im was getting  concerned  they would  set my clothes  on fire on the line.I was going to talk  the doorman about those cigarettes. When I left and came  back from the usa the person  is gone.Thank God

I love the nady but unfortunately you need to buy a house to enter the nady in madinaty but im renting a house :(

بالنسبة للبيروقراطية، الموضوع ليه علاقة إن كتير من القوانين في كل المجالات قديمة وبعضها عمره أكتر من 70 سنة أو أكتر، والمشكلة الأكبر إن كل نظام بييجي مش بيحاول ينقح القوانين القديمة، لا بيضيف عليها وخلاص.

بالنسبة لموضوع الشغل، ما لم يكن عندك تخصص مش موجود بكترة هنا في مصر، أو عندك شغل أنلاين، أو لغة مش موجودة بكترة، زي الألماني أو الهولندي أو الصيني، هيبقى صعب تلاقي شغل بعائد كويس.

بالنسبة لموضوع أسعار السلع، إما تشتري من أماكن موثوقة زي المولات ومحلات البقالة الكبيرة زي هايبروان وسعودي واللي زيهم، هيبقى قدامك حل من اتنين يا إما تتصل بالبوليس أو جهاز حماية المستهلك تبلغ عن المكان اللي مش حاطط أسعار أو تاخد معاك أو واحد مصري، أو واحدة لو اللي رايحة ست، هما اللي يتعاملوا في الحاجات دي.
