"These aren't real guns, these are our stand-in guns, because I don't point real guns at our cameramen" fabulous

I miss this show. It was so great for kids to get them interested in science and how to think about methodology for testing.

It doesn’t bother me that the MythBusters evolved from exploring urban legends to testing general tropes, and the Monty Hall paradox is a great example of why.

I love the shots of Adam dressed in period attire to illustrate the various shooting stances.

Adam saying to Jamie "Nice, gangsta~!" will never not be funny

With those shooting stances, note that while they aren't hitting the target, they are still hitting the person on the board.

The Monty Hall Paradox is one of the coolest myths of all time

For the record, US Protocol for grenades is to get minimum 6 feet away and lay prone with your feet facing it. It won't leave you unharmed every time, but it's a lot nicer taking a piece of metal in the foot vs the face.

I love so much that they mention the gun safety. I miss these guys’ science so much!

I think people decide to stick because when they see that one door is opened without the prize, they are positively reinforced for their original choice. You pick door one, and when you see that one of the doors you didnt pick doesnt have the prize, your original pick feels confirmed.

When there are actual stakes in a real gameshow and the host asks you to switch, it also feels like they are trying to take something away from you, because you know its in their interest for you to lose, so I bet the compulsion to stick is even stronger

Im a Mech. and In the tire one , first REMOVE  the Schrader valve to help expell excess pressure , the purpose of the tire fire is to seat the bead of the tire to the rim not to inflate it , you will still need an air pump.
Beads are often hard to seat without a tire machine so out in the field the explosive fire works fine along with a pump.

"I don't point real guns at our camera man."
There's certain other Hollywood types that should have known that.

R.I.P. Grant always missed never forgotten

03:58 adam absolutely stripping the hell outta that screw because it dont matter xD

Always loved the 3 door problem. Very cool breakdown

45:19 - love that Adam took the time to say that to the camera, for all to see.

Side note about the shooting stances; one-handed shooting was the way you used to be taught to shoot a handgun (revolver or automatic pistol). In the wild west, that lets you shoot from horseback while still holding the reigns, and in the military (or in the wild west when you're off horseback), shooting one-handed lets you shoot with your side turned towards your enemy, which reduces your profile and makes it a little harder for them to hit you if they're shooting back.

It's only a somewhat modern development that military training and self-defense drills started emphasizing using two hands to help with recoil management and stability.

Akimbo shooting is just ridiculous and has never made sense.

Mythbusters is still my favorite TV show.

34:41 They galze over the fact that Adam foring from the hip nearly was as good as Jamie aiming down the sights lmao!!!!!

17:33 - "3 door gameshow host problem" explained very well. You're choosing a door, therefore you have 33% chance of choosing the right door. When gameshow host opens up a "no win" door then he transfers that 33% to another closed door. Turning a chance from equal to 33% and 66%, so if you stick to your original door you still have 33% chance of choosing right. But if you choose to switch you will end up using that 66% chance of choosing right (2 doors summed up as 1).
