They unpack their insane experiences (though Mehdi’s was objectively more insane) and what it revealed about young MAGA conservatives. Something I realized is the Zohran Mamdani is not only a good communicator, he is a GREAT marketer. Sam and Mehdi mentioned the clip of Mamdani jumping into the pool in his suit and I think it's a great example of this. The suit is sort of brand recognition for him at this point, and jumping in the pool with it also gets people's attention and gives them a reason to engage with and share the video. This is also something you'll notice in clips of Mamdani speaking in other languages about policies he's implementing. It's not only a tool for inclusion, it also expands it's reach through the algorithms on social media. His video where he spoke in Chinese got 21.2 million views on Instagram alone (Comparatively, his video talking about the same policy but in English got 5 million views.) Even people who don't speak Chinese were exposed to the message who might otherwise never have encountered it.

My dad used to listen to The Majority Report on Air America radio in the car when I was a kid, then like 15 years later, I start watching The Majority Report on youtube, and it didn't immediately occur to me that this was the same person / show lol trippy as hell

I remember the next morning of him coming down that escalator, we watched it on the news at work, I said he reminds me of Ahmadinejad (The previous Iranian president), and I said he will get elected, my coworker laughed and said Americans are not that stupid to elect a conman as a president. My point back then was, that he used the same playbook as people before him, he took problems that every society faces, exaggerated them then promised to fix them all by himself.

I am so happy to hear Sam say that he wants to see AOC as a senator. I want her to take Schumer's seat SO BAD. We need people in ALL parts of government. This idea that the president is the only thing we need to take is ridiculous.

Bush era conservatives from 20 years ago, who people today insist were so great in the decorum department, are the same conservatives that threw up scaffolding, a noose, and a buck-toothed racist caricature of Obama in that noose, just across from the White House. They gathered around that grotesque display and held up signs saying "Hang in there Obama!". They were the same conservatives who immediately questioned the faith and birthplace of Obama during his first presidency during the Birtherism "debate", and hung on to the fact that his middle name was Hussein. The same conservatives who claimed Michelle Obama was a man. The same conservatives who blasted McCain for even attempting to work with Obama.
