Boris Vallejo isn't "va-LEE-joe." It's "va-LEH-hoe" in English, or in his native language (Spanish), "va-YAY-ho." I've met him at conventions, gotten some of his artwork autographed. He's HUGE in fantasy and gamer circles, one of the most prolific artists of all time.
my dad always bought dvds, he had a whole wall full by the time he died. i watched most of the behind the scenes, but minty always has stuff i never heard before.
The first time I saw Vacation was when it was broadcast on CBS-TV. Edited for content, but they still played "I'm So Excited" during Christie's scenes. I never knew they later replaced it.
Here's another piece of trivia for you. In the opening credits of the tv show Married With Children, there is a scene where they show the Chicago skyline. And a highway with cars traveling down it. That scene was directly lifted from the "Vacation" movie. You can see the Griswald's station wagon in the clip.
There's a Gas station in America called Wally's it's basically a Buc-ee's but I always felt like the mascot should have been a Moose 🫎 instead of the Bear.
Wally World technically is a real theme park, as it was filmed at Valencia California's Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park. (Edit: sorry, didn't realize someone had already commented on this.)
