Insanely mid, is what a hater would of said, but the fact that the flying flapjack is in War Thunder at all is a dream come true for me! War Thunder buffed its flight model, but will it actually make it a good plane now? Not only do I test it out in this video, but I also bring along a horde of XF5U's to cinematicly CARPET BOMB THE ENTIRE MAP!

“WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT? We flew by like it was hovering?” It was the flying flapjack

Seems like one of the biggest problems with it is how Gaijin models loss of flight performance with damage. If the center gets a couple hits it loses so damn much lift that it becomes fatally attracted to the ground because those couple hits blacked out most of the lifting surface, and the center has what looks like the same amount of health as much, much smaller fuselages

This shit can climb vertically at 45kmh like a heli before overheat. And drop the bombs straight down

So I learned that the 1600hp~ is for the engines that were never made. It only has civilians Pratt & Whitney engines that have 1,350hp irl sadly. Some people who host the gaijin streams explained it.

Who's going to tell him they're all helicopters.

Tis from ze internet: The real XF5U had two Pratt & Whitney R-2000-7 radial engines, each producing 1,350 horsepower, for a total of 2,700 horsepower....yousa welcome.

A stürmtiger looking at you while you are reloading is one of the most terrifying thing you can ever see

The IHOP Horde should be the more accurate description.

I didn't grind for it, but the buff was enough for me to buy it directly yesterday. It has the most aggressive AOA potential of anything else at tier, making it really good for pulling out of steeper high speed dives without compression. I don't expect miracles, but it should be fun longer term with the fixes they gave it.

Gaijin forgot to place the 2 homing laser to the plane
