I was expecting a wholesome subreddit, not the glimpse of what old Internet used to be like.
RIP a more simple time.

Don’t forget, this is the man who said Pepsi and Coke taste the same, he has no place in soda discourse.

I absolutely love it when NL hits us with a "Shut the FUCK up" straight from the heart

it so funny how that guy's explanation for why he thinks people still like elon musk was "you're not a liberal are you?"

NL and chat talking about sprite zero being rare/impossible to find is so funny because its almost exclusively the only version of sprite we have in Norway if regular sprite exists I dont know where to find it. We took all of it buddy, skill diff

soda and sushi 1 minute into the video we're getting overstimulated

Took my girl out to sushi last night and I shit you not she said, “ we should just go here every date night “

a lot of subreddits for bands are like this. like 5 posts a week and most of them are some middle aged guy asking something like "hey everyone whats your favorite song from this album"

everything else is steeped in multi levels of irony and sarcasm that its great to just see people being honest and normal without being melodramatic

The very first YouTube channel that I ever saw formally “end” was Soda Tasting, which posted over 200 soda pop reviews over the course of its relatively brief life, from September 2012 to August 2013.

The host was pleasant but/and he took his role very seriously; he would swish the pop around in his mouth thoughtfully and then spit it out into a bucket, the same way that professional wine tasters do.  Even though he only operated for a short while, I don’t believe there’s ever been anyone else—before or since—who was so dedicated to this very specific niche.

All of his videos are still up.  I really don’t think it’s content that anyone needs to see, but it is all still there, and I do think that that’s kind of neat.  😌

I've literally gone 3 for 3 thanks to NL's sushi bit, whenever I hear the "whatever you want" or "i don't know" I just say Japanese or sushi & it works!

unfortunately bringing attention to cool subreddits usually ruins them

as a r/soda enjoyer this is the most validated I've ever felt

Nothing like drinking 5-6 beers while watching a librarian video

I love that no one publicly names Northernlion, they say "egg" or "the bald streamer".

Sushi mentioned 2 seconds into the video 🙏

1:45 The "New sodas coming soon" post made me think of that one image of a Redditor posting about groceries like they're a character in a gacha game "when are the new groceries coming out" or "where can I get rare groceries"

to ease his bald mind i have purchased starvaders and will review it but first i must complete the hit game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33™ much to his bald dismay

Hey, does anyone have a comment? (sultry)
