A truly crazy lens at a crazy price on the used market. Thank you for showcasing such a rare piece! 🙏🏻

The Light Lens Lab version is pretty good imo.

Very interesting video

Thank you for the video. I'm lucky enough to have the same lens. It definitely looks Noctilux-like in terms of its rendering.

Great timing as I just ordered my Light Lens Lab 11873: 35mm f1.4 for delivery first of Jan-25.

Thought this was going to be the LLL new one. Excited to see the comparison. My titanium ships Dec 1st hope it’s worth it with the tariff!!!

Thanks for this, and congrats. I know you will have had to take a deep breath to buy this. It's on my bucket list. I began with the M when the FLE had just come out and I actually began with that lens. I've been in and out of that one a few times - finally out, when I got the 35APO, which I love so much. I recently bought the 'in between' AA and FLE for the first time and I'm currently checking that out (bought the Kanto bp repaint 11883 Gilbert had listed). But the AA itch will have to be scratched one day. I can indeed see in your photos that there the additional saturation you note, and contrast. Do you find a little bit of glow at f/1.4 sometimes? As others have commented, would love to see your view cf the LLL if you pick up that one. Thanks.

This lens is a pleasure for yourself, for others you can shoot with another 35mm, no one will know))

Is this the leica 11873 ?

As a lucky owner who bought one 25 years ago, might I recommend you try it with the hood next time for even more color saturation?  It also might be worth a comparison at f/2 and beyond with the 35 APO-M.  Enjoy.

Its definitely NOT worth the $16k it sells for. As a collector's item sure but as a usable tool, absolutely not.

This lens been compared to the FLE so many times and … the FLE has nicer and even more classic rendering. This lens is rare and thats it…

Bokeh is looking weird and nervous?

I have had one for 12 years, and have had quite a few other 35mm's and absolutely love the 25mm F2.8 Summaron, this is as special for me. I agree with the AA colour saturation is special especially tonally if that's the right word. The AA IS special and I am not precious about mine. No one knows and it's a user for me. If you use it regularly will get under your skin, its colouring reminds me of the 50mm F1 Noctilux especially at low light. If it helps my serial No is 3461924. I've no clue how much they are worth now, sure they are not worth it price to picture, but they don't wear out and increase in value, so it's just money in a different place.
