Could be wrong, but I think the reason why he let the one girl live is because she hid under the table on her knees, whereas everyone else was either standing or sitting. My theory is it goes back to James Brown's song "Say It Loud - I'm Black & I'm Proud" where he says, "We'd rather die on our feet than be living on our knees."

Since the woman chose to get on her knees and accept the situation (i.e. "know her place") rather than fight back, protest or even pray as the one family is seen doing, she was allowed to live while everyone else who did one of the three were shot and killed. Again, could be way off the mark, but that's just what I'm thinking. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, he could've let the dude who was on his phone/tablet live b4 he walked out the diner because he was distracted/looking the other way and not taking the discrimination of people who look like him seriously; he's the type of person the CIA would be proud of.

This was an excellent follow up after Dark Times

He put his backpack up as asked.  He turned out his pockets as asked.  He left calmly without an attitude.  The wife said something in Cantonese then the father and son left the store in pursuit of him.  He was literally just walking turned around and saw them coming after him so he ran, fell, and was shot in the back by a man who had shot others for stealing.  Video surveillance shows that he took nothing, was complying with their requests, left calmly and was then pursued by them.  It’s all on camera.

Dark times intro hit like crack omg

53:44 to your point, when you first mentioned wanting a little more cacophony musically, it made me think that maybe the more minimalistic, straightforward production also speaks to the numbness we've developed in response to the hamster wheel of tragedy. I appreciate this album a lot but also the musical bed i would've loved could've leaned more Transplants perhaps

Beyond Vince’s musical growth, I love music that matches the times it was created in. Facist US Gov’t, ICE, Genocide, AI data Centers, Media Monopolies, War, rampant poverty, illiteracy through the roof, etc it’s just not the time for empty party music. At least hide secret messages in the bops.
