Gordon had a rich voice and it stood out a mile for me.They wrote great pop songs with brilliant chord progressions .Ian Whitcomb looks like the late British Charachter actor Ian Carmichael ..a bit thinner though.Met Gordon at a Beatlefest once upon a time and he seemed a really nice guy.

Interesting connection with Elton.

thanks Honeybee9t7, he did have a voice that lives on. Wide awake drunk, yeah, a lot!

It's quite sad to see Gordon Waller
He didn't age well and looks unwell in the late films I've seen
Shame back in the 60s he was a good looking guy

FINALLY!!! I've been searching for Ian Whitcomb's name off and on for several months. All I had to do was enter the song title, "You Really Turn Me On." Didn't he also do "Winchester Cathedral"?

I think whitcomb resembles Christopher Guest

Sadly, Ian had a stroke Friday night. Reports are that he is awake now and in good spirits, but his speech is slurred a bit. I just saw him perform a few days earlier -- hopefully not his last performance.

Gordon did remarry to a lovely lady.

@brockmont Is this Georgina? I met Gordon at the Beatlefest in LA back in the late 90's We all partyed together. My condolences.:(

@art fein When was this filmed, Art? Gordon said in this interview that he was only 45 years old, but he looks MANY years older than a mere 45.

Nice to see my ex-husband Gordon, instead of just all his stuff!

This is too fabulous, Art. Nice work. I love this interview.
Ian's, "Turn Me On" one of my Mother's favorite songs. (She would fall out laughing everytime it was played on the radio) I enjoyed Gordon's youthful philosophic views on the "good things in life" (music, food, girls & money) and, Dr. Pepper and Wiskey is my favorite drink! Don't you just love a wide-awake drunk?
