On Day 3 Tyreek Hill told the jury his wife was behind his down season and behind his mother losing her home. On Day 4 the plaintiff's lawyer reads those answers back to him, one at a time.

This is Day 4 of Lakeeta Hill v. Tyreek Hill, the civil trial in Miami-Dade where Keeta Vaccaro Hill, the NFL star's wife, says eight incidents happened behind closed doors during their marriage. This is a civil case, not a criminal one. Tyreek Hill is not charged with a crime here, he denies the allegations, and nothing in this video is a finding. The jury decides which account carries the greater weight of the evidence.

It starts with football. The lawyer walks him through the 2024 Dolphins season: missed playoffs, under 1,000 yards after a year the lawyer puts near 1,800. Hill says he does not keep up with any of that, he just goes to work. Then the question: your wife was not calling the plays for the 2024 Dolphins, right? "No, she wasn't calling them." Then he adds, "but at home she was calling the plays." A support system at home matters in football, he says, and he never got it from her. Asked whether a better wife would have meant a better year: "I'm not blaming."

Then his mother. The Southwest Ranches house burned down, and Hill had said his wife would not let him buy his mom a place. "I'll listen to my wife and let it go." The lawyer points out he did not need her permission. Hill says he talks things through with his wife, "and then I just went behind her back with that one." He also clears up that when he said homeless, he meant she was in a hotel. Then a house in Miramar, bought during the marriage. Who was it for? "It wasn't for anyone." Nobody lives there now.

The last stretch is the fire. Hill suggested the arguments with Keeta had something to do with it. The lawyer: the fire department investigated and concluded it was an accident, right? Hill agrees that is what they found, then says he knows his family. Asked straight out whether he thinks his wife had something to do with it: "It's just my opinion." The clip ends on the insurance check he took for the damage.

Here is what I am watching. The defense theory is that the record made at the time beats the account told now. This cross turns that around on Hill himself: his own Day 3 answers against the season stats, the hotel, the Miramar house and the fire report. "I'm not blaming" lands right after he does exactly that. The jury is weighing credibility in both directions, and a witness who says he went behind his wife's back is handing them a reason to weigh carefully. Does "calling the plays at home" sound like a marriage, or like a reason?
