Tonight, we continue the life of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, as the long road from Mecca finally opens into a new chapter:

Madina.

A city waiting.

A people watching the horizon.

A community about to be born.

In this fourth episode, we follow the Prophet ﷺ from his joyful arrival in Madina to some of the most defining moments of the early Muslim community.

We see the people of the city rush forward to welcome him after days of waiting beneath the desert sun.

We walk with him through Quba, where one of the earliest mosques is established.

We stand beside him as the Prophet’s Mosque rises from the earth, brick by brick, with Muhammad ﷺ himself carrying the load alongside the believers.

And we watch as the people of Madina begin to transform.

The Muhajirun and the Ansar are joined in brotherhood.

Old tribal rivalries begin to fade.

A new charter is written.

Different communities are brought under a shared agreement of protection, responsibility, and justice.

Madina becomes more than a refuge.

It becomes the home of a new society.

But peace does not last.

Mecca has not forgotten.

Soon, the desert roads begin to fill with armies.

At Badr, a small and lightly equipped Muslim force faces an enemy many times stronger.

The Prophet spends the night in prayer.

Morning comes.

Dust rises.

And against all expectations, a young community fighting for its survival emerges victorious.

But triumph is followed by another lesson.

At Uhud, the Muslims begin with the advantage, only for a single act of disobedience to change the course of the battle.

The archers leave their positions.

The enemy circles behind.

Confusion spreads.

The Prophet ﷺ is wounded.

Hamza is martyred.

And the believers learn that faith does not remove the consequences of mistakes.

Then comes perhaps the greatest threat Madina has faced.

Thousands of enemy soldiers surround the city.

There are too few Muslims to fight them in open battle.

So Salman al-Farsi offers an unfamiliar strategy:

Dig a trench.

For weeks, the believers break through hard earth with their own hands.

The Prophet works beside them.

Hunger grows.

Cold winds sweep across the city.

And outside the trench waits an army large enough to erase Madina from the map.

Inside, fear and betrayal threaten to open another front.

Yet the city holds.

Then, in the darkness of the siege, the wind begins to rise.

Tents collapse.

Fires disappear.

The enemy alliance fractures.

And the army that came to destroy Madina turns back into the desert.

This is Part Four of the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — a story of building, brotherhood, battle, loss, endurance, and a city learning how to survive.

It is narrated slowly and reflectively for those moments when you simply want to listen.
