Gmod Maps That Just Keep Going Deeper

Logan From Earth

In this episode of "Where Are We Now?" we satisfy the human urge to go deeper, and explore a liminal abandoned SEARS, an underground Amazon warehouse, a series of crystal caverns, and an aquarium with a dark secret. Guess who accidentally recorded his narration in mono instead of stereo again...

Hey bro, I really enjoyed this video! I noticed you played on my aquarium map and I am very happy you enjoyed it!

The hum you hear in caves is the sound of air echoing around everywhere. If you don't hear it. It means that there's no exit, and everything is still. That's not good.

The "If baseball players weren't COWARDS," "Why'd they abandon their stuff? That's expensive!" And "mice with tiny versions of furniture" bits only 5 minutes in are giving me MASSIVE Freeman's Mind rambling vibes. Love it!

6:36 the extra black figure in the mirror is such a good, subtle scare

Bro actually warned us that there are no jumpscares or flashing lights, now i can watch this while actually being spook and feeling uncanny instead of being only on edge with getting a heart attack or having a brain aneurysm

lol i like the thought of some scientist in the next 100 years standing up on a podium and going "We did it, we found all the caves." applause

"imagine shitting here" perfection.

this guy is undeniably a main charecter, nobody has this many THOUGHTS. so many things catch me off guard in their somehow mundane absurdity like asking what you would do if you had a big glowing orange crystal

Ok, am I the only one who saw a black silhouette figure (at least twice) in the 'AbandonedSears' map? First hiding behind the "maze of boxes" and then towards the end I see him in the reflection in the mirror but when Logan spins around it's gone.

**edit**Ok, found another post mentioning it so, thankfully, not the only one "seeing things". lol

I love the zero jumpscares. Makes me feel way more comfortable watching this. Trusted it immediately. Also I love that you don't show any noclip, you actually just go with whatever happens, even if it means you're stuck. Makes getting lost actually have some weight to it.

‘You can’t convince me that this is the Sears mainframe. It doesn’t take this much power to host a website with a bunch of stock images of happy white people on it.’

Logan, your commentary is gold. Never change.

there's a large reservoir of undiscovered maps from old games like quake 3, doom, etc. Exploring empty maps from late 90s early 2000s games feels all more harrowing, churning pixelated skyboxes, industrial sounds, dark colors

Appreciate the mention of no jumpscares.

the umbrella man graffiti appearing multiple times in that aquarium map scared me more than any jump scare could have

The bit at 12:15 caught me so unbelievably off guard

I heard "Like the MRE guy, or Brutal Moose", and my mind immediately was like "I see, a man of culture."

That little mice furniture tangent gave me freeman’s mind vibes lmao, in a good way

I'd love a map like these where you are there DURING whatever outbreak or disaster is going on in the map instead of after.

i appreciate the abandoned sears map in that it gets at liminality in the sense of the proper definition, that just being that it is a space in a transitory state. its a familiar and usually crowded place at a time when it is not meant to be inhabited, as everything gets moved out so probably some other big chain store can move in. its a neat little feeling of being somewhere like that which you dont get to experience in reality all that often!
