Probably the best and most comprehensive video I have seen on Air to Air heat pumps.

We had air conditioning installed last yr, absolute game changer, overnight we have left just the blowers going to move a huge amount of of air around the house without conditioning. In the winter it’s very fast at heating the whole house. Found the system to be quiet apart from the usual air movement but not as irritating as a room fan that literally chops air & does nothing, I would recommend it to anyone as let’s face it, it is now not going to be very comfortable in the summers ahead

Mid September 2026 in UK and I booked a survey for a quote from an AC contractor. Lead time for the quote is 2 months.

This video is top notch. What do you suggest for an extension before it’s completed? It would be good to run pipes etc while the floor and walls get closed in. We also won’t know how the rooms perform.

Ahhh you know they do heat as well right 😊
Prefer 3/4 waste as opposed to hose. The a/c hose is ribbed so probably won’t air lock. Only time I’d do vinyl hose is when pumped.

This was very informative, thank you. But I would like to see how the electrics are installed. I assume you run from the consumer unit, but do you go through the house, around the outside of the house, etc. All I seem to see is focus on the pipework and trunking.

I visited a local privately run home for old folks recently during the UK 2026 heatwaves. They charge each resident 1300 UK pounds per week for their stay. In this establishment, I was surprised to see that there was no evidence of air conditioning fitted in the building. Windows were left open to apparently cool the place and there was an inoperable portable 'air conditioner' standing in a corner. Around 20 old residents were sat in a large lounge in these conditions.

Do you install in the South West London area - Weybridge/Walton-on-Thames?

@neilcase 1 month ago

What about servicing/maintenance?

@chriscodes1 2 weeks ago

Biggest problem with Air con in the UK is the extortionate rate installers think they can charge for a mini split which requires only basic refrigeration knowledge to install and maintain.
