I have that same gun. I thought about taking 2 inches off the 30 inch barrel to get rid of the choke.

Love single shot shotguns. I have an H and R model 088. Wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I've got same gun, can be tightened up again, , mines in so so shape, and in fire it alot,
I tightened it by peening the lump where the bite bar engages to keep it closed,  gd old guns with appropriate loads, the cheepey skeet shells are fine
In them, 1oz and 1 1/8 oz loads
But absolutely no steel shot

I have this exact gun without the takedown pin flap, that whole thing isn't even there so it might be earlier.  Thanks fornthe videos I'm sure they'll be invaluable as I start my journey.  Exact same damage to the stock so must've been an issue.

Parts are available for that gun .

Can that gun shoot 2 3/4 inch smokeless shells ?
