Im so glad i got to see korn with david, slipknot with joey, and pantera with the abbott brothers live

How Fieldy and David merged their sounds is still amazing and ground breaking. Extremely influential rhythm section.

lol I remember when Corey Taylor got pissed at Dave just for modeling for a Levi’s ad & went off on him. Then seemingly in the blink of an eye he was doing the same shit for a quick buck 😂

90s KoRn was insanely amazing.
David will always remain as KoRn!

Crazy timing.  I was listening to Got the Life on the way to work this morning.  David’s drumming was the backbone of Korn.

Imagine being in the hospital and non of your bandmates even visit you. It would be hard for anyone to rejoin something like that without a little animosity.

Money changes people.  Especially musicians.

Look at David's wrists' movements... such a unique feel, style, and sound

I was around for their club days , I miss them days and the 90s in general, Blind in a small club is on another level , when the Pit rolls over into the bathroom you know your in trouble , lol

Man both David and Joey, two of the best new metal drummers ever

Ray is no doubt a phenomenal drummer but there is a groove David brought.  I remember when korn's debut was released i was 14 at the time and it was..well...life changing. You had to have been there at the time to realy experience the impact Korn had on the scene and the shift that happened. I guess i will side with David's style in the band because the impact they had on me as a kid and the connection i still have for the first two records. PLEASE dont get it twisted im a huge fan of Ray too the dude is incredible and what is consistent is just how much of a great dude he is too. I genuinly and always have rooted for David and wish all the best and good health to him

I remember David publicly expressing frustration with his place in the band as far back as the Issues album.  He was bothered by the fact that they were no longer writing songs in their practice space, and that they recorded all the songs to a click track.  There were also a few different tracks on that album where Jonathan played drums instead of David.  Every album after that, David was basically a passenger in the band, recording drum parts that were written for him, and nothing more.
I like Ray Luzier.  I think his contributions to Korn's later sound are super tight.  But he's never had that groove that made Korn's early sound pop.

3:59. The required surgery so nice, he said it twice 😂

As a teenage drummer in the 90's, I wanted nothing more than to sound like David Silvera.  He was an amazing drummer and a huge inspiration for me early on.

I'm so happy that someone has covered this topic is not many people that talk about how David has left

Commercially successful band are run like businesses in general, so this will always put a wedge on any band in the longterm.

Anytime a band loses one of its original core members, they are never the same 😔

I taught myself how to drum playing along to David Silveria and the first 4 Korn albums everyday after school. Being self taught by ear, his drumming on songs like Chi taught me how to really pay attention to accents and I learned how to play his ghost note drum rolls before I had any idea about drumming terminology or what I was actually playing lol. He was the first drummer I ever heard do 808 bass drops, too. He will always have a special place in my heart.🥁🌽🤘🏾

When I heard Korn when I was 17 in 1995 I honestly felt like I was home. Haha their VHS who then now was played more times then I can remember.. Did you spill my beer??

Knew of David when he was in L.A.P.D. (from one of his close family members). Saw Korn play at a small all ages event in a club right off of downtown Bakersfield on 17th Street before they ever released their first album (their "tour bus" was a manual Toyota mini van). I've had a few personal interactions with David and Jon on various and separate occasions. Both are very nice guys, and as I've been told, all the others guys are as well. It's such a shame what has transpired, but friendships and business are two entirely different monsters.
