🌿 Day 6: Reset Between Tasks:
(Day 6 of the 7-Day Mindfulness Reset, created around World Mental Health Day to make mindfulness practical and usable in everyday life)
We are rarely taught how to actually transition between activities. You don’t need more free time in your busy schedule; you simply need to get better at using the tiny 30-second to 1-minute spaces you already have.
This practice can help you:
Mentally switch gears between tasks
Stop carrying work stress into the rest of your day
Create a clearer transition between work and home
Notice tension before it builds
Feel more present in your next conversation or activity
Use mindfulness even when you only have 30 seconds
The 3-Step Practice:
Pause. Release. Arrive.
Pause: Stop doing the next thing for a few seconds. Feel your feet on the ground and acknowledge that the previous moment is finished.
Release: Check your body for physical tension, drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and lengthen your exhale.
Arrive: Bring your mind into what you are entering right now, and set one simple intention (listen, focus, or be patient).
A Personal Habit: The 2-Minute "Bathroom Retreat":
When I had back-to-back clients, it was easy to rush from one session to the next without even drinking water. I started making it mandatory to pause, take a sip of water, and take two minutes before each new client. It wasn't a week-long vacation on a beach, but that small boundary allowed me to breathe and reset without carrying one person's energy into the next.
Core Takeaways from Today’s Live:
Experiences have edges, one stressful meeting doesn’t have to become your dinner.
You don't need a 20-minute meditation to reset; 30 seconds of intentional pause is enough.
Notice where you carry tension physically before jumping into your next activity.
Give one moment permission to end before the next one starts.
