My favorite thing an Orc said to me was this guy who I started fighting while I was on a Caragor. He goes "Brought your mother along, did you? I can see the resemblance!" I laughed so hard that my character died
I recruited one orc who could only say: "I don't know." He saved my life once. He was killed in a duel to become warlord. Later on I was in the middle of a losing battle when suddenly: "I don't know!". He had survived and joined the battle on my side. I made him a warlord later.
8:25 This very quote is my favorite in the whole game (not even exaggerating), because I've heard hundreds of "I'm going to kill you and throw your body for caragors to eat" or "I'm definitely going to beat you, cuz you're only a weak human" while this guy just analyses your motives and asks you a question that really makes you stop and think for a bit
Just realized you could possibly have two different types of army. 1. One entirely made of performers, with singers and poets. 2. One made of only orcs that don't speak, just moan, and scream and sputter gibberish.
I remember my first playthrough back when the game was released.
I made a captain my right hand man, his name was Kruk (completely forgot his title), I gave him many missions and made him my bodyguard. Kruk was the most reliable of my captains, he nailed every mission I gave him while having little to no damage and he saved me multiple times by being a miracle savior when I was doomed and then killing my enemy. Even Olog captains were no match for him
One day I go kill a captain whose description I had only read the resistances and weaknesses, I was like "why would the 6 other categories matter?" and when I kill him, Kruk betrays me, turns out it was his blood brother.
He became Kruk the avenger. He had cursed axes and gained the no chance skill while with me (I trained him too well). He killed me in mere seconds. By the time Talion respawns, he had killed my overlord and became the new overlord, capturing all my warchiefs of the region (I think the region was Nurnen).
His new warchiefs were pretty tough. I also knew I couldn't luck with him so I extra prepared to invade back. It took me about a week to invade successfully the fort and beat Kruk in a one on one. But he didn't die, he told me our feud wouldn't end here and he prevented the kill and escaped, leaving me with the fort.
But I refused to leave it there, I didn't want to do a single mission until I had completely destroyed Kruk the avenger. Besides, he was very active at fighting my captains in missions and he always won so it was in my best interest too.
He always managed to either kill me, force me into retreat or retreating successfully himself. I think it took me about two weeks to kill him, by the help of poison, my main fuel in the first playthrough.
I was both kinda happy and sad, I already missed the time he spent at my right hand man. But the next day he came back, he cheated death and he was now immune to poison, I managed to run away but he killed my bodyguard in the process.
I left him to go to Minas Morgul for a mission, and then guess who ambushes me? Kruk, who tells me "I tracked you down for kilometers to kill you, let's end this!" or something like that.
The fight lasted for a good ten minutes because I always needed to heal, but at the end I lost. I was waiting for him to kill me like always, and then big surprise... He got killed by an orc who saved me, the mysterious savior Forthog the orc-slayer.
Kruk never cheated that death. It was also my first ever encounter with Forthog.
A part of me was relieved that this feud ended, but I was also sad, a part of me wanted to recruit back Kruk sooner or later. He was my best right hand orc and then my worst Nemesis, no other orc was a better match for either of these roles, neither before or after.
(If I had managed to recruit him back, I think I would have made him my bodyguard but then managed to never summon him so he stays safe)
He was 10-ish when I met him and almost level 40 when he died. A lot of orcs after that one were a lot more powerful but none of them were that much of a trouble, and it also never felt the same with any other Nemesis.
Kruk is the most tragic orc in my playthough. My most loyal orc who I couldn't forgive his betrayal after he was driven by the desire of vengence. I also felt bad when I thought I killed him for good. I wish I hadn't killed his blood brother but then maybe he would have died from enemies so I just appreciate the time I had, no matter the side he was on.
i once met an orc who was called something one word. He would growl for a while then say one word appropriate to the situation. And it was always a real classy word. I love this game so far
