This isn't my video but I love it so much I wanted to spread it about a bit more!
I really get excited when I hear other people's interpretations of Sids and other chiptunes. It really goes to show how well three channels can be blown into a full-bodied tune. The likes of Rob Hubbard really knew their stuff and my hat goes off to the DR symphony orchestra. :)

Music in order of play:-

1) Barbarian by Richard Joseph.
2)International Karate by Rob Hubbard
3)Shadow Fire by Fred Gray
4) Monty on the run By Rob Hubbard

Added a link to another video, which features another tune. I'm pretty certain it's the same orchestra, although the violinists are different:-Score - C64 medley (Barbarian, IK, Monty o...

A link to three other videos of mine, which are reproductions of other Commodore 64 tunes, with a nice Winamp visualiser :) please note, none of this music is made by me, just by other fantastic people :)

Who, playing these games as a kid almost 40 years ago, would have dreamed the music would live on and be arranged like this? This is great.

The one dislike is from the kid whose parents bought him a Timex Sinclair 1000...

When i was little, c64 music was considered stupid and childish....and here we are with an orchestra now.

The violin version of Monty on the run, shows u the complexity of this music. It might as well have been Prokofiev or whatever.

people thought i was weird when i played c64 music on a cassette tape back in the 80s - monty on the run was one of my favourites

3:32 Monty on the Run - fantastic

Best orchestra ever - subtleties of the chiptune embellishments retained - you nigh-on never hear that level of emotion in orchestral interpretations of this sort

So impressed by the violonists playing Monty at the end.

This only goes to show how classic and musical C64 music really is.

I would love to show this to my Mum, she could never understand why I was so wrapped up in C64 music and in particularly Monty on the Run. Sadly this came too late -shes gone now. Its a wonderful thing though that this music still lives on like this and not just in our memories.

hearing monty on the run done such absolute justice made me laugh out loud from sheer amazement. this is the kind of thing that makes me realize how much more blended high and low culture are than most people realize. theres not some hard line that separates the two
