Today I'm travelling 1st Class from Kraków to Lublin aboard a modern train built by PESA, one of Poland's own train manufacturers. 🇵🇱🚆
This journey gave me a chance to see what modern Polish rail travel is really like. The train was comfortable, clean, quiet, and offered everything you'd need for a relaxing trip across the country.
What impressed me most was the value for money. Despite travelling in 1st Class, the ticket was still very reasonably priced, making it one of the best rail bargains I've found in Europe.
Along the way I take a look around the train, show the seating, facilities, and views from the journey, while discussing Poland's growing reputation for modern and affordable rail travel.
Whether you're planning a trip to Poland or just enjoy train journeys, this is a great example of why I keep coming back to the Polish railway network.
🚆 Route: Kraków → Lublin

The vast majority of PKP Intercity passenger coaches (almost all of them) were manufactured in Poland. The only exceptions are recently purchased second-hand coaches from Germany, which were acquired to increase capacity during the holiday season.
Poland also manufactures modern locomotives such as the Newag Griffin 160, Griffin 200, and the Pesa Gama. Modern trains such as the Pesa Dart are also built here. Locomotive classes such as the EP07 and EP09 are also widely used.
Regional railway operators mostly use Polish-built electric multiple units, mainly the Newag Impuls and the Pesa Elf. Occasionally, foreign-built trains such as the Stadler FLIRT can also be found.
Pesa Bydgoszcz also manufactures trams, which can be found in many Polish cities as well as in numerous cities abroad.
We support the Polish economy!
