Tom and I look at 10 things that just never seem to change in ham radio. Humor -- if you can take it! Quin, K8QS

Something that never changes, New thing comes out, the new thing is heralded as the thing that is destroying ham radio. I imagine the old spark gap operators said "this new fangled continuous wave mode will kill ham radio."

Spot on... as to #3 California had their QSO party and I have never heard so much crappy audio from operators running QRP at 1,500w. The splatter was beyond measure. I don't know if it was because they can't tune an amp or a crappy mic. I run a Heil PR 781 which is a dynamic mic and Bob Heil tells you exactly how to set your comp and other adjustments on the 7300. I routinely get complements for having great audio.
As to boring club meetings I found a solution... I stopped going. No presentations, no drinks of any kind and a total waste of time. The president asked me one time if the 120 radials for my vertical were for lightening protection! There you go.
I am fortunate that my wife at HER suggestion thought it would be a good idea to get a 8x12 portable building for my shack. I have independent AC and heat to the point I could live in it!
As to dummy loads I have 3. A 100w, a 1,500w and one that walks around and goes by the name of Cathy! LOL 73, AE5RF

Love your channel, keep up the good work!!!

Another great one fellows.  The graphics are outstanding.  Just wonder how you create them.

Thanks!

Buying the latest and greatest transceiver without improving anything downstream.

TOM (The Old Man) was H. Maxim himself.

Back when I got into ham radio, 50 years ago, my Elmers never taught me about "BALUNS". I thank them and the God above for leaving them out of my training.  They will never go away in ham culture. Why do hams feel the need to lose so much power?  I'll never know. I was the lucky one, I guess. I can string up much better antennas. I'm grateful to them.

I've been buying 200 watt incandescent bulbs at Dollar General.

The Old Man was, of course, the old man, Hiram Percy Maxim, eventually W1AW.

Or the club Know-It-All on a subject that no one is interested.

How about all the miss information spouted by ones who should know better ?

Trumpo's fear lame ducking is coming up and we can find out what can be propagating.
