Man I had like a surprisingly emotional connection to Freedom Fighters lol. Somewhere between the story, the great music, and the way you felt yourself and your team truly GROW over the course of like actual seasons (the way they show time pass throughout the story) it just hit me in such a different way from most games. That one is truly special

Freedom Fighters!! One of the most underrated games of all time and an absolute classic. So much deeper and tactical than people think and I make a point of beating this on the highest difficulty every year. That soundtrack is God tier as well.

As a kid, I sunk probably a hundred hours into the demo for galleon. Never got my hands on a full copy but I always assumed it was a great game from how much fun I had with the demo, and how much time I effortlessly spent in just the demo. Back when official Xbox magazine sent a demo disk with every issue. I had a 4ft tall stack of oxm disks. (Getting the new issue every month and getting my hands on an entirely new set of demos would be the highlight of my month) it made me feel like I could play any game I wanted for 20 min at a time

Some excellent choices here! I miss the old, mid budget AA games so prevalent on the original Xbox, it really gave the perfect mix of creativity and risk taking, but with the budget and support from publishers to pull off big things. And it's always great to see people still talking about Azurik, I adore that game!

Azurik Rise Of Perathia is my favorite dude. Such a sick game.

1:09 the physics on his coat tails for an OG xbox game released in like 2001 is pretty nuts. The console even had 1080i output. The og xbox was insane.

I played Freedom Fighters on PS2. Not surprised to see so many people love this game. I would love an update to this game with online multiplayer.

My brother and I had many hours of fun with D&D Heroes back in the day. This game is such a fun couch co op game!

Damn, i played Galleon on a demo disk. Thought I had completely hallucinated that game and could never find it.

D&D Heroes intro screen is definitely based on the old Runescape lobby page, quite nostalgic

You are so right with Azurik. Even after over 20 years the world still feels so big and mysterious. I especially love the water area with the crane and all the floating platforms. And the air areas are so freaking cool.

I'm playing thru D&D Heroes right now. It plays great on the Xbox 360.

Galleon is amazing, I picked it up after reading about tony gard and him leaving core team just after the first lara croft game. Man, as soon as I finished the first level it shocked me how it just sank in oblivion, amazing movement (yes its different and funky but it works!) and great performances make the plot gel well with the gameplay.

So happy to see you cover Galleon, been waiting for it since I first started watching! You're not wrong, it's definitely a very flawed game, but I love games that take a chance and attempt to innovate, even if the result is only showing what not to do with controls or mechanics. Even if its gameplay is flawed, there's an unmistakable charm to it that sticks out to this day for me.
