I'm 63 now.  I grew up in the '70s.  Steve Miller was never fancy.  He is just an amazingly talented, blue collar, rock and roll icon.  Soooo many great songs!

Come on guys, the music business is the pits. The Hall of fame isn't any different.

I played a big 3 day festival outside Seattle   in 1969. Most of the bigger acts spent their time in trailers and R.V.'s. But Steve Miller hung out in a little backstage bar, playing an acoustic guitar through a little amp. Had a scene going on there. I was sort of softly picking along from a corner when he came over and asked me if I had an extra pick. I just handed him mine and said "keep it". He was a really real musician.
No bs star drama.

A STORY ABOUT THE STEVE MILLER BAND: Back in the early 80's I saw Steve Miller Band at the Irvine Meadows (out door) Theater. About two songs in it started to rain hard. A lot of people left along with all stage security, and there was only about 100-people left. The theater management anounced everybody left could come up front to the stage. Steve and band played an entire show like there was a crowd of 250,000 people in attendance with my elbows on the stage looking up at them play the whole time.

This is an old Feud . The Hall of Fame miss treated many and Miller !

Steve Miller is a legacy... sharp..knows the grinding music industry inside out and is not afraid to call out BS.

My son was born in 1994. He discovered Steve Miller at about 10 yrs old from one of my cd's Steve Miller was his favorite. In about 2009 his favorite was Led Zeppelin, and some grunge bands. Young people still like good music, if they hear it.

Steve Miller was huge in the mid 70s. So many big hits !
