SO WAR DAS DAMALS — 48 minutes of original Neue Deutsche Härte and industrial metal inspired by the everyday atmosphere of the former East Germany.
Marching rhythms, deep German baritone vocals, heavy mechanical guitars, powerful drums and a distinctly East German backdrop.
Trabant and Wartburg engines under the Plattenbau.
Frühschicht at the factory gates.
Saturday at the Datsche.
IFA trucks on the Fernstraße.
Robotron machines.
Kaufhalle queues.
Feierabendbier.
Summer roads to the Ostsee.
Not a political statement.
Not a parody.
Not a romanticized history lesson.
Just a musical snapshot of an era.
