What is the point of winning a war if no one survives? For Bertrand Russell, the nuclear threat made that question an urgent concern. But his confrontation with power had begun long before the world knew the atomic bomb.

This documentary explores the life and thought of a man who sought certainty in mathematics and ended up questioning the beliefs, institutions, and decisions of his time. From a childhood marked by loss to international acclaim, his story encompasses discoveries, contradictions, and conflicts that took him from the classroom to protest and from awards to prison.

A philosopher, mathematician, and Nobel Laureate in Literature, Russell maintained a restless spirit that permeated his work and his life: to examine ideas before accepting them. Exploring his story also invites us to ask ourselves how much we think for ourselves and what we are willing to do when our convictions clash with power.
