If you ever decide to quit your day job you could always make a living working and weathering these locomotives. Your knowledge is incredible. Always enjoy your videos. Hope your holiday went well.
The legendary Baltimore and Ohio 2-10-2 “Big Six” locomotive is brought to life in living color by master modeler Norm Charbonneau. Over 150 of these steam breathing beasts served the B&O with distinction from 1914 to 1959. It is said that they were so successful that they kept articulated locomotives off the B&O Pittsburg Division. Sadly, no Big Sixes survive in museums, but Norm brings back their glory days to the masses with epic video of this noble iron horse in action on his outstanding layout.
Charbonneau has reached a new pinnacle here in The Chronicles of Norm Number Twelve – The Big Six. In the fashion of a true Renaissance man, he blends mastery of weathering paint color, hue and tone with the cinematography of a sweeping Hollywood epic. In the workshop he flexes his awesome technical skills in displays of unmatched bodacity – electronics, mechanics, failure diagnosis, identification and repair. He uses a 3D printer with the ease that lesser mortals use a toaster.
This video delivers the freight – breathtaking footage of the B&O Big Six soaring over the rails, and in-depth technical exposition of how Norm makes the magic happen.
Your not supposed to be reading 2 rail blogs? I'm a 2 railer watching a 3 railer do more to his locomotives and rolling stock, as well as building an absolutely beautiful layout that many of us 2 railers could only dream of building!
Your electronic work is above my pay grade......but I never get tired of the mechanical, paint and weathering........needless to say the layout shots!!! Thx
Nice work as usual Norm, the Big 6 will look right at home mingling with your Pennsy and N&W equipment!!! I love that liquid solder, it works awesome with model Railroad wiring all the way up to automotive wiring!!!
Your work is simply outstanding. I can only dream to do work of excellent quality. Well done. Your locomotives and rolling stock and your scenery is amazing!
