this is the definition of freedom. i hate how non artists, and even some artists think that drawing realisticly or perfectly is the only way to be a good artists,i belive that a good artist is someone that makes art and tries to improve in their own way

Hi I'm now a new subscriber i found your channel through Orla Stevens.

such a relief to watch an artist's sketchbook actually being full of sketches and not all perfect masterpieces hahaha very inspiring thanks for sharing

Like others, I found you recently through Orla. Loved the simple sketches in the smaller book. Wish I could draw in this way without getting bogged down in detail. Very inspiring. 😊

Popped over from Orla’s Patreon.  Thanks for sharing!

you da real ART

Thanks for sharing! It is good to see other artists' sketchbooks that are not meant to be perfect!

I absolutely love your sketchbook! You inspire me!

Thanks for sharing your video. I too found you via Orla Stevens.😊

Aye my sketchbooks are free, playful and messy too 😊

Lovely video! It makes me feel more confident in my own art practice when I see realistic sketchbooks, it reminds me that sketchbooks are for learning and not for perfection. Thanks for sharing!

🤩😊❤️Schöne Skizzenbücher!!🌻🪻🌷

Nice i like your sketches ❤😊 got me inspired, thanks for sharing

Such beautiful work and it's so refreshing to see a sketchbook that has scribbles, and jumps from one thing to the next and isn't curated and perfect...lovely to see the journey and not just the final product❤ reminds me to let go and remember to just enjoy my sketchbook

Your self portraits are lovely. As I told Orla I'm 70 and just starting out. I have doodled but now I am trying to learn from your helpful videos. I really appreciate all your help and hard work 👍 ❤️ watching you draw is so helpful for my art journey. Haven't checked yet but would love to see you sketch faces, they are very intimidating to me.❤️😍👍🇨🇦🥰

Nice sketchbook! I really like your drawings and sketches, even the simple ones. And I love the acrylic landscapes.. As a beginner, I'll take a cue from your channel!...If you're a beginner, it's easy to get discouraged because you don't always manage to do something good: but your approach is beautiful, playing and having fun above all else!

Everything looks amazing! i can see a very unique style. And the views in your area are all perfect to draw.

I just found your channel today because of Orla, so glad she mentioned you 😊 blessing to all from Ontario 😍 💖 🇨🇦 🙏 👍 ❤️ 😊 what kind of paint do you use? Not sure what you use 😊

Hi, Nina. I've been watching your channel for a while and this time I felt like briefly commenting. The works in the second sketchbook are, in my opinion, not messy at all, but rather poetic and lyrical. I love this exercise you presented me of translating a landscape through a few line marks of different expressions,  being as succinct as possible. Funny enough, although mostly your favorites,  the ones with the houses are generally my least favorites of these you showed here, I guess because to me it's as if the sense of rhythm is lost as you add more lines/marks in a way that's more conventional to represent houses. By the way, just yesterday I watched a flip through of a book with sketches by Andrew Wyeth and, I have to say, it totally reminded of what you do in this smaller sketchbook. It helped me make sense of this exercise and convinced me (finally) to try it myself. Now, particularly  related to the works you usually do on the first sketchbook, I've been meaning to ask: are you familiar with the artist Etel Adnan? These paintings you make, with surfaces of color interacting with each other, remind me a lot of her work. Anyways, It's been a pleasure and quite inspiring watching your process, specially because you interact with a landscape that's so different from the one I'm used to in my country.

So cool!
What kind of sketchbooks do you use?
