The ‘it’s a warning of something could theoretically happen but can’t actually happen in real life’ is wild. The apostles spilled a lot of ink over something that wasn’t even possible to begin with

Gotta give it to Ryan, he is always willing to debate, even if he is wrong

You have to appreciate Ryan’s consistency in ignoring debate prompts to use his opening statements to take digs at the Catholic Church

No wonder Trent sounds so good in these debates, he’s backed up by the  fullness of truth!

Imagine a bank telling me, 'If you stop making your payments, we'll repossess your car.' Then assuring me, "But don't worry, if you're really our customer, you'll never actually stop making payments."

Why warn me about something that is not possible?

Except that it IS possible that I might stop making payments.

Scripture's warnings read like real dangers, not impossible hypotheticals.

Im catholic... but after this debate i will remain so

I think it is funny that NeedGod thinks the Catholic system leads to uncertainty. When I was a Calvinist I had much more uncertainty because I never knew if I was one of the people who were truly saved or not. I had seen several friends who I thought were on fire for God (reading the Bible daily, praying daily, doing missions, etc) and had shown themselves to not be Christians, so who was to say I wasn't also deceiving myself into thinking I am saved? Now as a Catholic, I have no doubt in my mind at any given moment if I am in a state of grace or not. My mother (who also has converted and struggles with scruples) has had the same experience. There is so much freedom in the Catholic system.

Ryan is the perfect example why you should not interpret the Bible Privately.

First time I've seen someone lose a debate just by agreeing to the topic of the debate.

No fluff debate. Love the attitude and mutual respect.

Ryan said “this debate is laser focused on whether or not the Bible teaches that believers can lose their salvation” and then talks about eating meat on Fridays during lent for 10 minutes

Repentance is what brought me to Catholicism. As a protestant I gave grace beyond limits to myself with pornography, I reaped its consequences, and God rebuked me. Not long after Catholic videos began popping up on my YouTube feed. It didn't take long for me to realize my sins were far worse than I could have ever imagined. Thank God for His mercy showing me the way to understand what real repentance is. It's not just saying sorry and then continually and willfully indulging in sin habitually every day. It's making genuine effort with prayer and clinging to Christ to break free from all sins that separate us.

Lutheran here, haven't started yet, I'm going to predict the protestant's only argument is that "If they leave they were never Christian to begin with" and Trent is going to win because that's stupid.

Catholicism must be living rent free in Ryan’s head because this debate wasn’t about Catholicism yet he kept bringing it up.

Hot take: there is no meaningful distinction between losing your salvation and never having been saved in the first place. Saying "oh no you just werent saved in the first place" is just a philosophical workaround to make calvinism work.

I've seen this guy before in clips talking to ppl on tiktok I think or omegle? Anyway, I must say his manner is always calm and respectful even in the face of some really disrespectful ppl. I've seen him bring round some ppl to  a friendly conversation despite a terribly hostile start.
Whether you believe in his theology or not he certainly shows the fruit of the spirit.

I always feel that the “if you left Christianity then you were never a real Christian” sounds like a “No True Scotsman” fallacy.
I once was an atheist many many years ago, now I am back home within the Church Christ gave us.

Ryan’s closing statement gave me so much gratitude to have converted to the Catholic Church.

As a Lutheran, this debate kinda made me mad. Trent clearly won and made a very strong argument for the truth of Scripture that you CAN IN FACT lose your salvation and Ryan couldn’t stop taking digs at Catholic Doctrine and proclaim Sola Fide, neither of which were the debate. And on Sola Fide, there are many Protestants, which hold Sola Fide, who absolutely hold you can lose your salvation. It’s taught in my own Lutheranism as well as in Anglican, Methodist, and even some Baptist circles. It’s only Calvinists and Calvin-Adjacent Christians that can make the “Once Saved Always Saved” or Perseverance of the Saints argument.
I don’t wish ill on Ryan or for anyone to be mean to him, but man he cannot debate apologetics when all he does is constantly change the topic of the debate.

I genuinely love listening to both of these guys. I see the fruit of their faith in so many videos. Praying for them both while listening to this!
