Selous Scouts “The Walking Dead” left no trace feared by the enemy. We salute 🫡 you gentlemen .

I would just like to commend all of you who served during this period. It takes a special kind of person to stand up and say I’ll do what it takes to complete this mission/task . Utmost respect and gratitude to you all.

Excellent. I've just finished reading 'Skuzapo. The Untold Story', by Andrew Baalam. A most excellent read, in my opinion. Extreme bravery, tenacity, skill and loyalty of the highest order. Men of men.

A great interview Dave  , a bygone era but wonderful memories of the finest soldiers on this planet of the day . I don’t think any modern fighting soldier or army would be able to adapt this same strategy on their enemies . Black and white soldiers fighting side by side is very motivating for the units as a brotherhood . My highest respect to you all in the scouts black and white . Salute and god bless you all for your service and bravery . Rest in peace the fallen ! Pambere, Tatenda sekuru ! Hamba gashle !

Brilliant interview with an African Selous Scout which is almost unheard of. Thank you John and Dave for bringing this brave man’s story to light. It goes a long way to dispelling many often repeated myths and inaccuracies.

All SS were magnificent, but the story and bravery of the african soldiers in that unit only come out when you talk to their european counterparts

Pamwe Chete indeed. Never again will such a progressive, intellectual and thankless team of men be assembled in one place for one cause.

Thank you 🙏 Sir for your support and Service

Dave Scales is a top rate interviewer, one of the best interviews on the subject....

Excellent interview with a former scout, it would be nice to hear more from the African soldiers.

I've listened to most of the videos put out by 'Fighting men of Rhodesia' but I can't remember any videos of African soldiers on either side.
The difference between us white soldiers and and our African compatriots and our enemy was our separate cultures/value systems/way of seeing things.
We're getting very old now, so I guess the chance to interview the 'non-white' participants is getting more difficult, but he presents very good insight.
THANK YOU . The interviewee was excellent  and very interesting.

Wonderful account of real soldiering.
At that time I was involved in the Northern Ireland operation but, even 50 years later, my biggest regret was not leave the British Army and join you men in Rhodesia.
I still experience the shame I feel for our government for the way that you were betrayed.
I still fly the Rhodesian Flag on 11 November every year.

Thanks for this 🍻 not enough is said or documented regarding the Selous Scouts and their contributions.

They were both units of extraordinary quality. The Selous Scouts being tailored around the inherent skill and bravery of African soldiers. Many European Rhodesians transferred from C Squadron to the Selous Scouts to seek the challenges of more highly complex unconventional warfare. JM

About time to hear from an African Selous Scout. Would be good to hear from others and RAR veterans.

Thanks for the fascinating and well researched comments that certainly warrant further research. JM

great interview, thank you for sharing.
would love to hear stories from koevoet soldiers as well. from their oppinions and personal experience.

we only learn about big history events, but there are men like these who were there and have their own histories to share about how they've experienced it...

after all these years, there might not be many left.

Mr Scout, ndinokutendai nemoyo wese nezvamaita. Nokusingaperi kuongwa. Sarai zvakanaka

Dave, we have all been axiously awaiting your interview on the fighting men of rhodesia channel... stop the suspense!!
