Beyond the Roads — Episode 3 | The Road Back Home
Every journey eventually has to find its way back.
After exploring the remote roads of Latpanchar and Upper Sittong, the final leg of this journey begins.
In Episode 3, I leave Upper Sittong / Sittong II and start the long ride back towards the plains of North Bengal.
The route takes me through the winding mountain roads of Chimney, Bagora and Dow Hill, before descending towards Kurseong and gradually leaving the hills behind.
From the cool mountain roads, forests and mist of the Darjeeling hills, the landscape slowly transforms as I make my way towards Sukna, followed by Rohini, Siliguri, and deeper into the plains of North Bengal.

Upper Sittong → Chimney → Bagora → Dow Hill → Kurseong → Sukna → Rohini → Siliguri → Plains of North Bengal
This final episode is less about reaching a destination and more about the journey itself — watching the mountains disappear in the rear-view mirror, transitioning from winding hill roads to the open roads of the plains, and eventually making my way back home.

This is the final chapter of my first Beyond the Roads journey.
From the roads around Teesta Bazar and Kalijhora, through the forests of Latpanchar, the challenging off-road sections towards Upper Sittong, and finally back down through Kurseong and the North Bengal plains — this journey was about experiencing the places and roads beyond the usual routes.
Three episodes. One journey. Countless roads. Also spotted a Samba Deer enroute Bagora to Chimney. There were black panthers spotted in this similar place over social media, I was very cautious and kept moving ahead.
