The sight of them makes you proud…just for a few moments…but it’s the sound of those Merlin engines that gets to me. Thank you for a great video.

Most beautiful aircraft ever invented, and it sounds sweet too! Beautiful, musical, and lethal.

There’s something magical about aeroplanes and cars from that era.
Can’t describe it.

Just finshed watching this video, I am lost for words as I cant imagine what it must have been like. I`m hearing them engines and thinking the Spitfire must be the best aircraft England ever produced, I really enjoyed this video. The fella who produced this deserves a pat on the back, it was amazing thank you very much.

It must be an absolute privilege and skill to be able to fly any aircraft, never mind a piece of history. The sound is amazing.

Rolls Royce Merlin’s, the original sound of freedom. In the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them, we will remember them.

Great Video! USA Commercial Instrument Pilot for over 50 years. Several Months ago (Sept 2025) while on vacation to London, my beautiful wife arranged for me to fly Mark 9 Spitfire MJ627 (2-seat conversion identical to the Spitfire at 8:47) from Biggin Hill to the English Channel and White Cliffs of Dover. It was for my 78th Birthday. She was in a chase plane, and we flew formation over the White Cliffs where she took some fantastic pictures of me flying the Spitfire. Got lots of stick time including aerobatics. I have worked for 30+ years in Flight Simulation and have flown many different actual aircraft and many aircraft flight simulators, but this was the high point of my flying experiences. BTW this same aircraft had engine failure and made a successful belly landing 4 months before my flight. It was the 3rd belly landing since it was built in 1943. One tough airplane. This video makes me want to do it again!!
