A little-known fact: the march at the end was played to plena music. Plena features three drums called pleneras and a güiro. And each time Benito mentions a country, a new group of pleneros joins in. Each güiro represents a group.

Black American here. Those white chairs resonated with me. My MomMom only had a cement stoop, but she kept those white chairs on the sidewalk next to it. She would sit outside with my PopPop or the neighbor when it was warm out and just talk to people as they passed. We grandkids would sit on the stoop or play on the sidewalk. She even wrote her name on the back of the chairs in sharpie because the corner (dope) boys would “borrow” them to sit on the corner and she would go claim them back. We worried about her confronting them, but she still is very much fearless and everyone in the neighborhood respects her. Such a great memory from my childhood.

I’m from Guam and Benito tells the story of all of us worldwide in this situation. When you said the thing about the empty plastic chairs I burst into tears. I think of all the family and friends that I lost and even myself who has moved from Guam to the mainland. It won’t be the same there and here since so many of us moved being around family every weekend in those chairs. We lose so much of ourselves in search of something “better”. Our families are spread out and don’t get to see each other often. Our children won’t have those same experiences or as many of them since the US culture champions success as an individual endeavor. It’s really incredible that one of the world’s top artists is talking about this, the pains of colonialism in his work. I remember growing up in Guam and after typhoons we’d have power and water outages for months, but the resorts and military bases always back up and running first. Much love to Bad Bunny and Puerto Rico. 🇬🇺🇵🇷🐰

As a 75 year old white woman of Anglo-German-Swedish descent who doesn't care much for modern music, I watched Bad Bunny's show out of curiosity.  I understood very little and was so-so about the music but loved the story.  So I watched it again.  I became even more curious so I started reading about Bad Bunny and watching videos like yours.  Thank you for your clear explanation.  Still not a big fan of Bad Bunny's music per se, but deeply respect his genius and commitment to using his celebrity to tell the stories that we all need to hear.

After seeing all these breakdowns of Bad Bunny’s music, I’ve come to realize that he’s way more than just dancy, feel-good music. He’s essentially the Kendrick Lamar for Latinos. Ultimately, these artists represents for not only their own ethnicity, but anyone and everyone who has been oppressed by governing powers. To have any hate upon these artists is truly a sign of heartlessness.

I am a 68 yo non Spanish speaking white female who knew jack about Bad Bunny, other than he was a musician, and have watched his halftime performance several times.  Each time has put a smile on my face.  There was so much joy and pride and pride I heritage that I nearly burst.  F*ck the haters and GD republicans.  I have gone down a Bad Bunny rabbit hole and find nothing wrong with this incredible human and artist.

In finnish, when kids are learning to speak and can't pronounce the rolled r sound yet they change it to the l sound. It's so sweet that 2 countries on the opposite sides of the world that have seemingly nothing in common share this little phonetic likeness, makes me feel more connected to my fellow humans across the Atlantic.

I was born and raised in Bayamon Puerto Rico...my parents still live there. Hearing my hometown mentioned seeing my culture  on center stage like that. Just feels like it's something that would ever happen. I had to move away because of said gentrification. So many of my friends moved away, I remember when I first heard Debi Tirar más photos... That song made me bawl because I fucking miss my island.. But I didn't see a future there. Little known thing is He mentioned boquetes en la carretera con el Rubicon. That's the jeep Rubicon and the the road back home are sooo fuuuucked so yeah that gave me a chuckle.

Thank you for this. I'm Puerto Rican and from Hawaii. My family (both sides) were a part of the migration of workers sent over after the 1899 hurricane that had decimated Puerto Rico's coffee and sugar crops. Census data shows that around 53% of native Hawaiians now live on the mainland US (and it doesn't even include us multi-generational mixed locals).  I miss home so, so much.

I was thinking of editing some parts and re-uploading to avoid the copyright restrictions… but it's like every minute of the video, all the important stuff 😅and doesn't affect visibility so I'll leave it as is. I've contested for fair use, but obviously I did use a lot of the NFL's video, so if my appeal fails they'll get the money this video earns. And I'm kinda desperate not gonna lie so please check out my other videos! I would really love for the long form videos to have a larger consistent audience!
