As a Kashmiri subscriber, I must say your reviews have genuinely increased my interest in perfumery, especially because of the depth with which you explain fragrances. I understand your point about depicting Kashmir through a more niche and darker experience. But I’m also glad EM5 chose to portray Kashmir through its beauty—kesar, nature, tourism, serenity and those beautiful, uplifting vibes. Kashmir has its difficult chapters, but I feel its identity is much more strongly associated with its beauty and warmth. It’s nice to see a fragrance celebrate that side. ❤️
I agree with you, bhai. They should have added a note of gunpowder in this. They intended to add the gunpowder note in Chambal, but it didn't appear in the final blend. Agar main Kashmir based blend banata to usme burning coal ka note zaroor rakhta. As Kashmiri people use a wooden basket called Kangri filled with burning coal to keep themselves warm and it has a very smokey fragrance, and many homes in Kashmir still have a fireplace.
Chetan bhai, kashmir trip yaad aa gaya apki baaton se, will surely try the perfume. I have one complaint with Em5 that they are are not launching 15ml of their private blends
