Solid video. I had a Honda Grom, 2020 kaw z900, 2023 kawi z900, and now a 2023 triumph trident 660 that I got at a steal of a price, had all the goodies quickshifter, heated crips, aftermarket full system exhaust. It's a very sweet and practical bike with ample power. Very nimble too. I love the retro neo cafe type look. I just wish they got rid of the check engine light that turns on when its oil change time (yearly or mileage). You can't reset it, has to be a dealer. Very annoying. Aside from that, like the bike. ..but I will eventually return to the kawi z900 😈

Thanks for the quality review Scott. IIRC the earlier variant could be a little vague off a closed throttle, I'm seeing none of that here, that's sounds like a real plus if I'm remembering correctly.

I don't think I will exchange my current 2021 Trident for one of the new ones, neither 660 or 800. I am still happy with mine and it's very relaxed riding like on the Speed 400 that I bought in 2024. Going down in engine size from 1000cc and important the weight of the bikes. Tested the T900 it's good but too heavy, liked the RE Guerrilla more so next will be getting rid of my third bike for another.
And than decide what I do with the other bikes that are projects, build them or sell all in one go with all the parts.

Great thing that spreadsheet, you can look at everything and pretty much decide what to get, I guess it can be used as a checklist. The yellow and black looks great, somehow it looked like a really small bike until you sat on it, strange. I usually prefer 2 cylinders for mid sized naked bikes but this time the triple doesn't seem too bad, except for the MPG

Hello, would you say the inline triple engine is closer in feel to a parallel twin like the CP2 or an inline four, like say the CB650R? Everyone says it's in the middle and the both of best worlds, but is it? And to which side is it closer?

The seat had no reason to be in 2 pieces. One of the strengths of the previous 660 was its ability to take a passenger comfortably. It's not a sport bike, it's not a Street Triple, so why the hell did they do it? Do they assume that all riders are single?

Lovely bike but I just don't like the look of the short seat. It would be better with a tail piece and proper rear mudguard and light, not that horrible thing hanging round the back of the rear tyre.

I didn't know that Mister Rogers did bike reviews.

The front mudguard is only a legal obligation as it's far too short to actually work!.

Triumph’s web site says the seat height is 31.6”.

is the Trident 800 better than 660?

Sooo 800 or the 600? The 800 is just a tad more in price and weights basically the same. What say you?
